I really hope you'll enjoy it! I remember watching it weekly and I got lost in Season 2 but never cared enough to get back into it, maybe this will be a good opportunity.

Really really tough to go through it…… But I’m still so glad this amazing series is here, my first ever anime and my first favourite female character, the best maid ever. Hoping you enjoy this dark adventure! Also the S3 is coming!!!

TChang23

Looking forward to the theory crafting this show was basically made for it lmao

Rocket

Oh this is show is gonna be one hell of a rollercoaster. One of my favorite shows fr, and I hope you really enjoy this one!

This show is amazing to rewatch, it really does give you all the pieces to put together. But the way everything is recontextualized on a 2nd viewing is awesome.

RBGTalk

Im glad you enjoyed the first episode! This show is gonna be super lighthearted and wholesome :)))))

Eric The Viewer

"Is this a horror show?" Yes. Inna psycological way.

Something to keep in mind for the future, is just to stick with it and this anime will pay off immensely! There may be several moments where you will feel lost, but give it time. Also - the character writing in this anime is realistic and the characters are intended to have flaws. It's perfectly ok and intentional for you to be confused with their actions or emotions sometimes.

Ara Araragi

Subaru gave a little context already, but some common tropes of the isekai (other world) genre are: 1) a person is either magically summoned or dies and is reincarnated in another world (if reincarnated, they keep their old memories but sometimes get a new body) 2) the person usually gets some OP magic power/ability/item upon arrival 3) the person is usually revered as a hero, and often ends up attracting multiple love interests 4) they get tasked with some grand purpose (often "defeat the demon king") or else treat being isekai'd as a new lease on life where they can be the person they always dreamed of being Subaru is an otaku who's familiar with isekai tropes, so he's expecting all these things but he doesn't get any of them (except maybe an OP power, but if it only works when he dies, it's not really something he'd want to use).

Manny

yay i always hoped you would watch re zero! it's one of my favs

This show has flaws, yes, but it’s truly excels in three things that cover them up: subtle but deep world building, incredible slow-burn character development, and consistently creating an ample space for theory crafting. Yeah.. It’s going to be a wild ride by the time you catch up to S3 this year.

NEW SHOW LETSGO

Alex Chen

Whoa. She has never seen an isekai before? I didn’t know that was possible in this day and age.

Killua X

Get ready for some of the very best voice acting in all anime

Sam

I've only seen KonoSuba and that's mostly just for laughs. I've tried a few others, but even the trope just seems dumb to me. Starting Re:Zero now so I hope this proves me wrong.

Sam

Okay just finished the reaction after I watched the first episode. Alana or anyone, help me out...Are we watching the normal Re:Zero or the Sen Henshuu-ban? Or what's the difference? I read that Henshuu-ban is a directors cut but it has 13 51min episodes as opposed to 25 25min episodes? Is it just 2 episode in one or what? PS. I don't use crunchyroll like Alana.

Sam

"Your guts have such a lovely color" Alana: "Girl, you're crazy!" Me: "I can fix her"

Benjamin Sones

"This guy... he's going to die." OH YOU HAVE NO IDEA.

Justin Navarrete

Late response. But I think she’s going to watch the normal episodes. The difference between them are that the Director’s cut is better quality, uncensored, and an added scene at the end of season 1

Sam

Thanks, and it seems like they're 2 episodes in one, at least where I'm watching.
