The amount of love the staff put into this show is incredible, The ballroom dance was just a panel in the manga. They made a full fledged scene and entirely animated by hand, no rotoscope, no cgi. Just amazing.

I first thought she was looking at Stark and Fern, and smiling at their growing relationship, but after thinking about it some more, she was actually looking at all three of them. Now she's realizing that she hasnew friends to make new bonds with, and that the four of them are having the kind of adventures she had with Himmel and the others. I think she was smiling at both the memory and the potential of the new.

I really felt so sorry for Wirt's father this episode, the sad look he gave Stark while dancing had me in tears. Somehow those episodes really hit me hard, I was instantly reminded of the stage play writer from Violet Evergarden
