I loved the callback to Haibara as the person that was closest to Nanami. Him telling Nanami to give Yuji (who is basically a second Haibara in personality) a mission and a farewell was sweet.

In the manga, this happened only a couple pages after the Sukuna stuff. The anime giving us flashes of Nanami on the beach was a beautiful addition (not to mention the music and great editing). It really gave us time to sit and think about how much we all loved him and how consequential these awful events are.

Mind blown. I’m very happy I decided to watch this episode first here.

For me Nanami always treated work and jujutsu sorcery the way I wish Gojo would. They both care about their students but Nanami always saw Jujutsu sorcery for what it is: a job where people live and die by their strength. Nanami knew he had a duty in Shibuya to protect his students, and did what he could to make it happen. If Gojo took his position as being all powerful seriously, he would’ve been able to deal with at least Jogo and Hanami in season one instead of just roughing them up before letting them escape. If Gojo took his position more seriously maybe there wouldn’t be much of a Shibuya incident, but then again there also wouldn’t be much of a story
