Absolutely wild episode! Toji was hired by the Star Religious Group who see Tengen as a god and don't want anybody to defile him by assimilating, Toji is doing it for the payday. Although, I am pretty sure that he was thrilled to get to fight Gojou as well.

what sucks even more is that toji was hired to stop the assimilation of tengen and riko was currently making the decision to not assimilate when he came in. (obviously it didn't look like that to him because she was right in front of the gates, but still...IF HE HAD WAITED!)
