I’m not a manga reader but I’ve heard that at the time this chapter was released, there was a irl case of Japanese celebrity taking her own life because of cyberbully. Manga readers feel free to correct me if I’m wrong

Omg the animated version was so good. Thankgod, the VA did very great. The scream of let me go was so good.

Yes, this is based on an event that took place during a Japanese reality show called Terrace House where a girl named Hana Kimura tragically took her own life after a show controversy exploded into cyberbullying much like what happens here with Akane.

Alana Misako

omg nooo :( i loved terrace house, but i only watched opening new doors. didn't know that happened in the later seasons. so horrific...

Such a powerful and impactful episode. I love what you said at the end of the reaction. People are ruthless, mob mentality is so real. Seen it happen in real time to people on tik tok and twitter.

Matt Brock

Yeah Hana was a talented wrestler as well. Had a ton of potential. She is deeply missed.

Pedro Lobo

In the scene where Akane scratches Yuki's face by accident, they didn't show clearly in the anime, but in the manga there was more focus on it. What actually scratched her face was the heart shaped stone in Akane's nail, that Yuki gave her while doing her nails. An unfortunate coincidence.

This probably was the best episode since the premiere for me. The production had Eighty-Six written all over it in fact I think it had some of the same staff. The directing was fantastic with the quick cuts, contrasting scenes, lighting and OST. Wow.

This episode is great in showing the reality of the world. We as viewers in this episode sort of forget that Aqua is a full licensed doctor in his ‘previous’ life… As someone who’s familiar with the medical industry it really highlights the importance doctors play in one’s life. Aqua picking up all the small nuances of his fellow actors, breaking down their personalities and identifies allowed him to make that informed decision in saving Akane. However that is not the case in real life. You fellow actors are not past doctors and cannot read and understand the mental health impacts and thus are unable to provide the proper support that many people need. But the shows really connects the story well demonstrating that Aqua’s past life does truely reflect his actions currently and allows him to ‘save’ all the people who are in need.

2023-05-20 20:34:50 Oh true, that totally slipped my mind. Seemed like the typical protagonist "heroic" moment, but that actually makes a lot of sense how he is in reality a lot wiser through age and his profession in regards to how these young people are effected by the work their doing and the exposure that comes with it.

This episode is a stand-out to me, along with the first. It feels like it has more going on than just showbiz criticism and young adult drama cause personally I came away wanting to be kinder and more sincere to people when I don't have the full story and really upset at the times when I haven't been. Thanks for making these videos so people can share the experience of watching these stories.
