This is the episode where Totsuka shows his potential as best boy.

the episode is not technically filler. it's from a .5 volume (6.5) which has little to no impact on the overall plot but is still considered canon. they are essentially side stories. incidentally, the actually sports festival arc is a lot longer in the LN and involves what could be considered to be a bit of a redemtion arc for sagami.

Be ready for Season 2, because the show's about to be a bit more complex (and maybe confusing at times). Oregairu is the kind of anime where you might have to rewatch some scenes to really understand what's going on with what the characters are feeling and saying at times. Especially the dialogue because it relies so much on subtext and deep meanings behind them. Moving on to a new season lets goo!
