ikuyo is kita's first name. in ep. 8 she has mental breakdown when they all find out after their first concert cause she hates the name hahah.

And Kita hates the name because it sounds like a pep rally "Let's go, Ikuyo!" which got lost in translation in the anime, it actually means Kita = come + Ikuyo = Let's go "come, let's go!". But the real meaning to Kita's name is Many happiness " 喜多" and Ikuyo where the literal translation is "Let's go, relying on our curiosity only and not worries." Ikuyo means let's go, but it can very well mean the way you live, too. In a broader sense, it means "Let's live, relying on.......". Kinda makes a lot of sense not gonna lie.

Yeah. Kita's first name is pronounced exactly the same as the phrase 行こうよ (Ikou yo), which is literally "Let's go!" Despite the fact that this is an objectively perfect name for her, she hates it and thinks that it sounds like a bad pun.

Another way to translate the homonym of her full name is "Here I am. Let's roll!" Kita (来た）can be translated as "I have showed up or arrived," and ikuyo （行くよ）in a certain context is a call to a group to get going ("I'm going. You coming?"). The group would then respond with Yoshi, ikou！ (よし、行こう！”Right, let's go！）or something like it. It all depends on the context of course.
