Gramps, it’s for research I swear. The next episode starts off with some spice to it but the fan service is significantly toned down after this episode. There’s also some fan service for the sake of fan service here and there but for the most part it’s pretty wholesome from here on out. And I saw someone mention it but yeah, they could have made it a bit more clear that he made some contact while measuring the inseam. There’s a slight sound effect but the manga made it way more clear. After he made the headband he was very cautious and thoughtful to not actually touch Marin and the one time he got caught up in his own thoughts he wasn’t cautious, he did.

It's weird that they use the Japanese word "eroge" in the translation when talking about Slippery Girls. If you don't know that eroge means erotic game, you have to wait and figure it out using context clues, and neither Marin or Gojo actually say "eroge." Gojo calls it an "ecchi game" (pervy game) and Marin says "bishoujoge" (pretty girl game).

Yay, so glad you picked up this series. Honestly, the ecchi in this show isn't too bad or explicit so I hope you continue watching since it's such a cute story overall. Another anime I think you'd like if you haven't heard of it is "Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku"! :)

It really isn't especially weird, because 'eroge' is basically *the* standard word for erotic visual novels in the Western world, while people are actually *less* likely to understand what they mean if they used either of those. TBH this sounds a lot like when people question why not just translate 'senpai' as 'senior' as if it'd be any less confusing to anyone who didn't already know what senpai meant in its japanese cultural context.

Fair point, and maybe "weird" wasn't the right choice of word. I just find it interesting whenever an anime decides to translate a Japanese word by using a different Japanese word than the one that was actually spoken. And I'm all for leaving certain words untranslated when the direct translation doesn't quite convey the same meaning, like your "senpai" example or with honorifics.

Episode 2 has, by far, the most "feeling intense sympathetic embarrassment on Gojo's behalf" energy. It would be hard to watch an entire season of that. Fortunately, the rest of the episodes are (mostly) not like that.

Na, episode 6 is a way harder pill to swallow and is where a lot of people stop. At least they dumb it down for the anime compared to the manga.

In Japan, the term, ‘eroge’ is only used by those who are familiar with that culture, so even Japanese could need explanations in some cases. Thinking about it, that translation sounds fair to me.
