I'd probably recommend doing a double episode for 9/10 if that's an option for you, since 9 ends on a cliffhanger

It's funny how they made you feel bad for Tendou and then he does that scary face lol

This episode gives us all the parts of Tendo we need to understand him. He's been bullied for how he looks, called a monster by other kids, so Tendo adopts that persona on the court to intimidate the opposing team. But as the flashback with him in the cafeteria shows, Tendo is actually really sweet and playful with his teammates, going out of his way to bring Ushijima and the team as a whole much closer together. A childhood experience where he was able to completely stuff block his bully's spike attempt shows why his techniques developed the way they did. His middle school coach wanted to force a square peg in a round hole, force him to fit in the systematic block style that Tsukki and Date Tech uses, but he didn't want that. It's only when he was invited to Shiratorizawa that he had the chance to play the way he wanted to. Washijo said play how you want, as long as you score points. Also, my pet theory is that Ushijima is kind of on the spectrum. He really latched on to the idea of being that ace that everyone can depend on to score, and the rest is history. But he's having new experiences going up against our boys in Karasuno, and coming to terms with understanding his own emotions especially when it comes to wanting to defeat Hinata in particular. Ahhhh that sweet sweet character growth! Ya love to see it.
