After all this suffering, this episode gives us some well deserved rest. I mean, not Roswall, but the others can enjoy themselves. I really hope Rem can wake up not too far in the next season.

I aint even hit play yet, but I'm already so sad to see this series behind us. Until season 3 comes out...I hope...fingers crossed....hoping the new studio doesn't fumble

Season 1 and season 2 had completely different intentions. Season 1 was al about Subaru as a character learning how to understnad other better and genuinely earn their love/affection. Season 2 is about Subaru and most of the cast learning to love themselves and in turn accept that other's love them. Overcoming the loathing of others and then learning to overcome self-loathing. Also, just a side note Betty's being completely cute this episode is great. Her sitting in subaru's lap just gives me them good brain chemicals.

Regarding the end of this episode I don't think I thought the first time I watched this that it was too happy, and yet as you started worrying I couldn't get out of my head the possibility of ending with Echidna's voice saying: "Behold an unthinkable future." even though I know it doesn't happen lol. Honestly though that would have given me chills comparable to "Who is Rem?"

So technically... this isn't the ending. Much like the Director's Cut edition of season 1, where the ending shows the "Who's rem" moment, this arc has an actual CRUCIAL moment that was cut off at the end of it. If they included it, it'd definitely have been less happy. But I can understand why they didn't this time around. It's a scene that only pays off for arc 7 or I'd even say arc 8. (For reference, this season 2 is arc 4 and season 3 is going to be arc 5) Also the part about Echidna's soul was already answered by herself to Subaru: her soul is anchored to the Graveyard of the Sanctuary, a special space dimension, along the other Witches that she can call over (or invite themselves, like Satella did) So Roswaal's wish would be to somehow get that soul from there and put it back into a living body, so he could meet her properly again. There's also the part about Roswaal wanting to kill the Dragon, that's a mystery still to be discovered. Perhaps it is tied to that as well. Speaking of Satella, I think they didn't hammer a fact enough in the anime adaptation, while the novel was more explicit about it. As we have seen her during the tea party, Subaru said to Satella, while she was asking Subaru to come and kill her , "I'll definitely save you" The entities of Satella and of the Witch of Envy are very much different. There's also another aspect of Subaru that's addressed by the Witches during the Tea Party, that was omitted in the anime. But I'll refrain from speaking about that one, as it's tied to arc 6 and may be referenced in season 3 as a lead up to the next season 4. Thanks a lot for choosing to react to this series, it's my all time favorite of the Isekai genre and nothing ever came close to it in my eyes. (Especially with the upcoming content still to be adapted, that's what cemented it as the top dog of the category to me)
