Ahhhhhgjfjfjfjdhd I’ve been waiting for this reaction!!!! Subaru hits very close to home with all the self loathing lol it’s a episode some people kinda misunderstand sometimes and even hate Subaru after watching it. Which I can understand cuz not everyone has dealt with the feelings subaru has of himself. It always makes me happy seeing other ppl show compassion for an idiot like subaru. He was definitely in the wrong in how he handled things and even with how he explained to Rem about who he likes or how he talked to Emilia for example. Like you’ve said before tho he’s not going to change over night. This series handles that in a realistic way he doesn’t reach his “moment” just like that in a single episode. His journey to a better self is like any other persons. A slow process that takes time and patience before you start making breakthroughs. The past few episodes really hammered that in with all the back to back blows subaru felt. Life can be like that sometimes and as you saw Rem exhibit compassion can really make a difference for ppl. Especially when you feel like no one understands and feel alone.

Great how you say "I hope they stay alive" while the ED "Stay alive" is running. I was also waiting for this reaction. When Subaru tells Rem that he loves Emilia... it can easily come off as selfish and even mean. But I think he wants Rem to know about his plans and agree with her full heart while not having illusions about his love (while he does love Rem, but in another way). I guess even to this day with my knowledge of season 2 it is difficult for me that Emilia and not Rem is the primary love interest of the show, although it makes sense, since Emilia has caught his attention earlier and was the first one saving him, and when you are in love, you are in love. Subaru has my respect for not acting like 90% of all harem protagonists and is not indecicive at all but fully knows and embraces what he wants. And Rem... she found such strenght since that episode, being able to lift all that weight Subaru couldn't handle anymore while knowing she won't be his number one romantically.

Finally! Subaru is with Best Girl, and no, it is not Rem. The real ones know who I'm talkin about. Though we don't yet know their name at this point in the series.
