Rem is great. I mean, sure--she killed Subaru. Uh, twice. But you know what? Lots of people have killed Subaru. Even Subaru killed Subaru once! So I don't feel like we can hold that against her.

REM, the best girl had arrived!!! Also, S1 really focused on Subaru and Rem more, so might feel a bit weird about the real main female character, Emilia.

Technically she only killed Subaru once. When he was under the effects of the curse in the mansion. Ram mercy-killed Subaru after Rem had tortured him, technically Rem didn’t kill him that time in the woods.

When Ram says “I’ll keep an eye on that too.” I’m pretty sure it is a mistranslation. Comparing what she said in the novels during the same moment, I think she’s supposed to be saying something to the effect of, “I’ll keep an eye out using that, too”.

Alana will you be watching the OVA Memory Snow that comes after Directors Cut Episode 6? The directors cut intends for it to be watched in that order because it happens directly between the two episodes and I’d recommend watching it in that order as well

Spoilers for season 2 ahead: Rem actually did kill him twice. Once in episode 7 and also in a previous episode in the hallway. Season 2 explains that Rem realized he was cursed and when he was aimlessly wandering the hallways about do die because of the curse she wanted to end his suffering

Rem does not kill him in episode 7. Ram kills him in episode 7. She uses her wind magic to cut Subaru’s throat. Rem only kills Subaru in the hallway after he is cursed. It literally shows Rem kill him in hallway, so there’s zero reason to bring up anything in Season 2…

Oh ok my bad, I thought both of them were able to do that. But thanks for clarifying Though still, the hallway death was brought up in season 2 and that she did it to end his suffering, seen through one of his flashbacks in the trial. That was never implied nor explained in season 1 I believe, hence why I’d deem that a spoiler. Also most reactors only caught on to that once they seen the flashback in season 2

Nah memory snow is basically filler, frozen bonds is the only must watch OVA

It isn’t filler at all. It is literally cannon, has foreshadowing for Season 2. Frozen Bond directly references the events that take place in Memory Snow, and they’re supposed to contrast with each other. It does not directly tie into the overarching plot of Season 1, but should absolutely still be watched. Preferably right before Frozen Bond.
