Love it when you "geek out" over language and interpretations and translations. I don't even look at lyrics videos a lot. I did find some lyrics online that made more sense in places and after that I just listened. I really like the vibe of this song. Like you, I struggled trying to avoid the word simple. But there's sometimes something to say for simplicity. This is not a song with huge switch ups, certainly not like their "noise music". But it is beautiful. Had to laugh, not long before this was released, Han was telling us in a live that he doesn't really know how to write happy love songs. And then this was released...clearly they have Chan to write those hahaha. But I love the piano. The hint of a jazz vibe somewhere. Just...relaxed and happy. and sometimes we really need that. What you said about them being good at this type of song as well, made me think of my favourite ballads from my teenage years and twenties. Often they were from rock bands, who normally wrote....what we apparently now call "noise music". ah and yes, Felix...love that he sings more now. And in his mid range too. Not just the low voice for effect (which we'll always see in their title tracks...because it's amazing). Like Lee Know singing beautiful solo ballads. And then I read comments from people saying "they" should have "let" them do that sooner. And all I think is...they were allowed to grow into this at their own pace. And I love that about Skz, and about their staff. But it's amazing to see that confidence now.

Yeah, I agree that "noisy" rock bands occasionally throw out some of my favorite slower rock songs. Disturbed's version of Sound of Silence: gorgeous, and rather fun listening to it back to back with Down with the Sickness. I'm with you on it not being about SKZ being "allowed" to do things now as opposed to earlier in their career. By the sounds of it, it's been a stretch for both Felix and Lee Know become comfortable doing as much as they do on the vocal end. And what a testimony to the hard work they've put in with vocal coaches to go from not being confident in their singing voices to not only putting it out there for the world to hear, but for it being absolutely beautiful.
