I took a little break to... honestly? Play video games.

That's right, I'm 41, and I went on a video game binge and didn't get on the internet at all. So, if you messaged me and wondered where I've been since I tend to communicate quickly, I'll be responding today.

Let me know if you're a gamer and go on binges. Or even if you binge other things if you aren't a gamer, like TV shows or cooking or reading or anything. My binge was Starfield. It's a Bethesda game that has been anticipated for many years. The world is huge, so I've had no lack of entertainment in my free time.

But, it's time to be a responsible adult and get back to it.

Today's TMI: Grace disappeared for three days again and the picture was her usual bonding ritual after coming home from her half-feral expeditions.

I've not started Starfield yet, but Baldur's Gate has been my joy and great frustration

I had to go search for it. I've heard of the game before but hadn't watched the trailer. Looks like my kind of thing. Maybe once I grow bored of Starfield...

Good for you. I'm a gamer too and binge often. I love starfield so far. I'm still in the beginning bits and have mainly skipped much of the story and have been off exploring planets. It seems leveling up is really slow so I should get back and do some main missions but it's really fun. I'm glad you're having fun. My next binge will likely be the Cyberpunk DLC because I loved that game so much. Can't wait for the new action but until then I'll be playing Starfield.

Is that Cyberpunk 2077? I wasn't familiar with it, so I had to look it up and watch the trailer. Looks very well made and also like it has some celebrity voice overs. I usually make very slow progress through these games as well since I'm a side-quest-aholic. But hey, the TV is visible from the kitchen, so a lot of those talking-based quests, I just let it play and hit the occasional button and navigate the ransom street while taking care of chores. It looks like a huge world and one that will take very well to developers creating mods for.

I get it! I do like to game, but more relaxed strategy/simulation type of games. Actually started a new farm in Stardew Valley last week and I've already got plenty of hours into it. And I know all about TV binges where you just watched a whole season in one or two days. Anyway, sometimes you just need to get away from everything for a bit and just focus on something you really enjoy.

I haven't played Stardew Valley yet. Maybe I should try it. I like the more relaxed games strategy/simulation games as well. Frostpunk is one of my recent favorites on that front. I'm still holding out hope that some day a company will come out with a great strategy/city building/survival game that is on the grand scope of some of these open-world RPGs.

Good for you for taking that time to just binge something you love doing for a bit. We all need that every now and then. Have to admit I'm glad to see you back though ;-)
