SKZ-Talker Go S3 Ep16

Comments

I was so surprised when this dropped. I'd completely forgotten there were probably more talkers coming. And yes, they went to Dallas and also LA. it all feels so long ago. So much has happened in between. but LA was the end of the Maniac tour. So I guess we're getting two more Talkers. Nice!! And yes! I can't tell you how frustrated and annoyed I've been seeing the comments on Twitter about the cancelled concerts. Ever since they had to cancel those concerts, every single thing they did or that dropped....the comments were "when are Skz coming back to do the concerts?" "When are we getting our concert" "When are we getting our money back". And I agree that JYPE could have communicated a bit better, but when they cancelled they said the concerts were postponed and they would come back for it. And they did. I have to remind myself the comments were probably from teenagers having spent their last money on the concerts, but those reminders didn't help me much. Because there was no way to get it through to people apparently that you can't just do the concert a week later. People actually said at the time "well, they had a few days in LA doing nothing". Later, we saw that they filmed the dance video and teasers for Case 143 in LA. And they filmed Time Out. And even if they had a few days, you can't get those venues and everything you need for the concert...with a few days notice. It's impossible. So their own schedules are packed AND the venues are often booked already. It's not easy rescheduling. But they did it. Okay, sorry for that little rant. But you fully understanding how difficult it is to get these things done, especially when we know how far ahead things are planned for them...it just finally made me feel like SOMEone understood, after months of speaking to a brick wall. Thank you!!

You're welcome. I'd love to see how far out into the future some of these highly-in-demand venues are. It does make me wonder how hard it is to arrange a world tour in all the stadiums you want so that a group isn't playing hopscotch all around the world just trying to get to the next venue, but rather going across in geographical order like they do. And which is likely way more easy on the performers, themselves. It's not like SKZ is just completing with other music acts, it's also comedians, events like professional wrestling, even ice skating, not to mention professional sports teams who call the stadium home. I looked at the site for The State Farm Arena where SKZ performed in Atlanta. They have three or four shows booked almost every week through to December, and if the schedule is that packed, I'm sure those are just the shows they are displaying at the moment.

Planning that is a pain in the you-know-what. I wouldn't want the job. I think. I know how hard it is with our theatre. I live in a mid-sized city with one big theatre, two stages. And we're already planning for the 24-25 theatre season when 23-24 hasn't even started yet (theatre seasons here run from Sept-June...more or less). That's just a local theatre. So no, it really wouldn't be easy to reschedule. And yes, those venues house so many other acts plus the sports teams. And people forget that for a show you're not just looking at the performance date. They come with a set. With all kinds of rigging that needs to be set up. That thing coming down from the roof during Thunderous does not appear out of thin air. It needs to be build and secured. Tested. And then the artists have their rehearsal. So they're in the venue a day before the first show. That "empty" day in a venue's schedule usually isn't as empty as people seem to think.
