Lol at your cats' fascination! I keep my cats indoors, for various reasons, but I do take them for walks on leashes. I also live near a couple of glorified ponds, where canada geese and mallard ducks like to hang out, and I've been somewhat startled by my cats' lack of interest in the big birds. Show them a wren or sparrow, though, and they do their best to stalk the songbird -- with me and my dog trailing behind. You can imagine their success rate

I love cats on a leash. My mom has success with that. It's a great way to take indoor-exclusive cats out into the great beyond.
