For me, this song sold itself to me with the vocals from 0:17 to 1:11. So dramatic, so theatrical, so epic, I suppose, yes, creepy, lol. I think my partner said that there's a sense of loss. The rest of the song was great too, but that section was when I knew I was probably going to love it. While I don't watch many movies (and my brain doesn't tend to make those symbolic associations of "this is that") the sound is a bit reminiscent to Cyberpunk which I've heard is sci fi, so you're probably on to something with the neon and flying cars Music is subjective for sure! I don't tend to notice synths one way or the other, but I've met people who love them and others -- not so much. That's how art is =) And yes, the lyrics - I love how these recent albums specifically have so much commentary applicable both to their storyline but also so many aspects of our world

Haunting might be a better way to say it than creepy. As in, actually haunted. I could see cyberpunk with this. It's usually set in a futuristic science fiction world.
