if you don't mind i'll quote Doolsetbangtan since i myself am not korean and can make mistake if start to explain haha «팔도강산 [paldogangsan] is the scenery of all parts of Korea or every corner of Korea. 팔도 refers to the eight provinces of Korea (South: Gangwon, Gyeonggi, Gyeongsang, Jeolla, Chungcheong; North: Hamgyong, Hwanghae, Pyongan). 강산 literally means rivers and mountains and refers to landscape/scenery or the land of a country. This song celebrates the diversity of satooris (regional dialects) in Korea with the members showing their pride in their own dialect (SUGA, Jimin, V, and Jungkook – Gyeongsang; j-hope – Jeolla). Watching their live performances (or dance practice), you’ll notice that RM and Jin (From Gyeonggi, both representing standard Korean although Jin sometimes uses Chungcheong satoori because of his family background.) standing with J-Hope, who’s rapping against four Gyeongsang province boys (SUGA, Jimin, V, and Jungkook) all by himself. Side-note: many (even the members) point out how RM has been absorbing all the satooris over the years and developed “Namtoori (Namjoon satoori)” that is a mixture of his standard Korean, Jin’s Chungcheong satoori, J-Hope’s Jeolla satoori, and Gyeongsang satoori of SUGA, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.” Doolset also has the lyrics explained in terms of mentioned food, behavior, etc, that are usual for one or another region of Korea, as well as differences in dialects! It’s quite detailed, so if you interested I guess it will be more convenient for you to just check Doolset translation for Paldogangsan bc it has a better visual representation of text than the comment section! :) DKDKTV also can help you with the explanation video!
