I can understand how you could see it as SF9 not taking it seriously but honestly this has been an issue with them from the start. Their company really pushed them to do solo stuff such as acting, hosting, MCing and more which causes all kinds of scheduling conflicts when it comes to their comebacks. It's hard to get a full member comeback, even if all members partcipated in the song and MV there's usually at least 1 or 2 members who can't do promotion activities because of solo schedules. They said in the first episode of Kingdom that they had the opportunity to work individually very early on in their career as a group but that they want to be viewed as singers/musicians and as SF9 not just actors or individuals which is why they joined Kingdom in hopes that it would help them unit again and be able to do something as a full group. As for the first round, I heard that MNet was actually scrambling to find groups to be on Kingdom a bit last minute because a lot of the groups they had in mind declined and I think SF9 was a group that was a last minute addition so I'm assuming they had these other acting and mcing gigs already scheduled way in advance before even knowing they'd be on Kingdom so it wasn't easy to reschedule or cancel things but I think they also just needed to figure out what kind of practice schedule could work best for them in this situation as they've never done a competition program before besides their survival show to debut when they were only focused on SF9. I'm glad you're vibing with them more this episode and that you enjoyed their performance!

I can see how being pushed to engage with multiple different forms of work like that can spread a group too thin. When you're doing so many different things, I can also see how scheduling can become an issue. At least when you're focusing on music alone, your schedule not colliding with other activities is aided by other music shows not wanting to compete in the same time slot, so you naturally get to spread your activities out just a little. Not so much when you're trying to balance so many different things.

That SF9 performance still remains in my top 5 favorites of the show!! I think they really gave life to that performance and they found their motivation in a way they maybe hadn't before. I remember recommending ONEUS before! They're really good, and they competed with The Boyz during the Kingdom prequel in 2020 (Road to Kingdom) so this felt like a reunion.

You've got the wrong link attached! It's playing "The 9th S3E1" instead of Kingdom. c:

Yeah I think SF9 really stepped up their game. I would never recommend skipping sleep to rehearse, but when you enter a competition you have to go for it. THey sure did. I loved their performance. Yes, Les MIserables is fantastic. I've lost count as to how many times I've seen it, but it's a lot. Hugh Jackman played Jean Valjean in the film musical. He did an amazing job. And yes, Chan is a big fan of Ryan Reynolds, but also of Hugh Jackman. He's joked about that, because the two make it a point to have this ungoing "'fight" between them and he's a fan of both. Chan once said that Hugh Jackman was his inspiration of getting into music. A guy who can sing, dance and act and be cool...yes, I can see why that would be an inspiration to him. Oh and in Circus you can really see the inspiration from Hugh Jackman's The Greatest Showman (Chan even kept putting out spoilers by talking about that film in the weeks before Circus came out). Hahaha why do I have cats? I often wonder the same thing...cause we love them.

What can we say? Cats are addictive. I really enjoyed Hugh Jackman in Les Mis. He's one of the most versatile actors on the market right now. He can go from a love story in the Australian outback to playing the Wolverine to starring in a musical. I mean, come on. I've yet to see The Greatest Showman. It's one of those ones I have to watch when my husband isn't around to complain about it being a musical LOL.

Hahahaha I watched it in the cinema and there were four young guys sitting behind me who kept complaining about the singing. I finally couldn't take it and turned around asking them why on earth they didn't just leave if they hated the singing so much. At least, after that they suffered in silence. But gosh...it's a wonderful film to so! Hope you'll get to see it.
