I Love getting to see them dream those big dreams knowing how big they've gotten and how far past those dreams they've gone now. SKZ have definitely had times square ads, and actually Bang Chan at least has had a fan made birthday add run on the giant times square board as well. Not sure if they others have, but I did see the Bang Chan one go around on twitter around his birthday. Honestly the fan made birthday advertisements are a weird but cool thing I think. Its kind of cool that the fandom has found ways to actively support the artists in that way. I'd be curious to see how that cultural phenomenon started you know. Like, was it just a thing that started near the companies knowing that the artists would see it and feel the fandoms love on their birthday, or was it started as a way for the fandom to spread their love of the artists to new fans? Kpop culture is fascinating. I don't know if you've heard of the new documentary series called Kpop Generation that is coming out on Viki? Skz are in it, and only 2 episodes have released so far (i dont know how many in total there will be) but the first episode was centred around fan culture of kpop and it was super interesting. I think once its all released you might find it to be an interesting watch (though i dont know if its really reaction material?)

That's so awesome that Chan had a birthday ad on Times Square. He must have been so proud. I wasn't even aware that was a thing before I became acquainted with Kpop. I can see it being both a cultural awareness thing around the globe, as well as just a cool thing for the artist. Like fans buying--was it Chan again?--a star and naming it after him. I hadn't heard of the Kpop Generation docuseries, but I'd love to watch it. As long as I'm watching it, I may as well react to it. Now is just to find the time...

Chan was talking about that on Chan's Room. They were the seniors of all the groups on day 1. HIs face when he said that!! And his look to Lee Know who was in the background. And they were the closing act. Chan was the opening host. Hyunjin and Felix were also MC-ing at a different part of the evening. And they got to lead the ending farewell from all the artists. Yeah.....so so different. And I don't think they are feeling all that senior yet. BUt wow.

I can see why they aren't feeling all that senior yet. It's only been four years, and yet they're hitting the kind of records that only BTS holds above them. It's crazy how they exploded in popularity after God's Menu, and it all must seem so surreal to them since they couldn't get out and appear in public because of the pandemic, so I can imagine how hard everything is hitting them right now.
