I had never heard of BtoB before kingdom, but having watched it all i truly think that the show became what it was because of them. They really set the tone for the show from the minute they came on. I've not watched queendom, but i've heard a lot of people say its a little more stereotypical in the competitive aspect thank kingdom turned out to be. I love this show because all the guys came in with the mentality of showing their best selves WITHOUT trying to cut down or belittle the others. They're all each others hype men and it makes the whole thing more special i think

The Mayfly team was a great dynamic in this show. I think you're right. BtoB did a great job putting everyone at ease and being generally nice guys.

About BTOB (it's pronounced as Be Too Be, abreviation of born to beat), Peniel is the youngest of the member who present at that moment (known as sub-unit BToB 4U). Two of the actual youngest of the team are still serving in the military at that time (both of them already finished it now). So yeah, 3 of them already done their service (peniel don't have to serve cause he's of american nationality).

LOL. Shows how much I know. I'll be sure to say B to B from now on. It'll be interesting to see if they make a comeback now that they are all together again.

I'm not too much into kpop ballads but BTOB just... know what they are doing. I can't wait for them to have a comeback now that they are all done with military service. It won't feel 100% as before because they lost one of the members due to a scandal, but it will still be nostalgic for sure. Also, fun fact, Peniel trained in JYP for a while and was the first person that Chan met when he became a trainee.

One of these days, I'll get around to their discography. One of these days. That's pretty awesome that Peniel and Chan met back in the day. Oh, the coincidences.

Love this so far! Hope you feel better :)

All three of the Kingdom ep 1 vids aren't showing up for me - is it something on my end or will you be reuploading them?

Tiferet

I've seen the whole show 3 times now and I still find the points system confusing especially the way it's presented here, in stages and with reactions that are shown earlier and later. Ultimately, of course, it was just a popularity contest among the fandoms, so I stopped trying to pay 100% attention to points.

Tiferet

As long as you vaguely follow who ends up in which place you'll be good :)

Beelinos

sorry to bother you rn lol 😅, but it says that the video does not exist?? is that a problem on my end??

K-pop Auntie

I re-attached the link that allows you to view it from my video streaming service. Let me know if that fixed it or if it's a problem with all of the videos for you.

Beelinos

it did fix the first link!! but the other videos still say they don't exist :(

K-pop Auntie

I re-downloaded all the Kingdom episodes. Let me know if the problem persists with other videos.

Beelinos

Aawww yes I.N.'s face when BtoB sings. So precious. Seungmin too, by the way. Han's....but yes, all of their reactions are so good, throughout this entire show. And they're so supportive. Yes, they want to win, yes, they are competitive, but they never want to do that by putting the other teams down. I found that very refreshing. I see someone already told you that Peniel was the first one Chan met. I only found that out recently, when Chan mentioned that he went to his dorm for the first time and Peniel opened the door. I can just picture Peniel as a big teen and Chan as that tiny 13 year old....too cute. I love the set up with the stage surrounded by the audience. I've directed shows in that way myself a few times and it's always such an amazing experience. FOr the audience and for the cast. And in this case I can see how special it would be for them to perform in front of their peers (or seniors, which would have a different feeling I'm sure).

K-pop Auntie

I hope that Peniel was the same kind of guy back then as he seems to be now. If he was, that was a great guy for a young Chan to be introduced to first thing.
