I find myself very conflicted when I watch JYP make those decisions. Because you feel the guys' pain and disappointment. Let's face it, for Chan to be cut out of his own 3racha must have hurt like hell. "a bit disappointed" my ass. That hurt. And I.N. not being in the vocal battle...same. You can see the pain in his eyes. And they still cheer the others on! Always. Anyway...I can also see why some things are necessary. Chan was spreading himself a little too thin and JYP gave him even more to do to make the performances even better. That takes time. And without I.N. the vocal team needed him. So it made perfect sense to cut Chan out and let him focus on the rest of his work. And I.N. really lacked the confidence and technical skills at the time. He had immense potential, but he wasn't there yet. So I can see why JYP did it. But I really dislike him for it as well. Because of the hurt in Chan and I.N. and because I think there are other ways to give criticism. BUt then....Korean culture and the Korean music industry are far from what I grew up with. Anyway....yeah....tough decisions. And now I'm dreading the next episode. Knowing what is going to happen.

There was some serious tough love going on in this episode. From what I.N has said since this time, it's obvious that he was emotionally and mentally struggling to cope with all the pressure and to become a better singer. Which dang, has he grown. I do think Chan took the criticism to heart. He's a very talented singer in his own right, and yet he almost always takes the back seat, playing the producer and organizer while letting the guys shine.

Chan has a gorgeous voice and more importantly, he really knows how to sing with feeling. I always tell my cast to perform "from their toes", meaning with all their being, not just their vocal chords. Chan does that naturally. So he draws you in when he sings. He does have to make sure not to get too excited during concerts, because he shouts a lot and forgets his technique....resulting in voice issues. But man, can he sing. And I.N. ...am a real fan of I.N. He really has grown up too. Became a man with a voice to match. And after Kingdom he worked so so hard on his vocal training and it's paying off. So proud of him. I'll stop now LOL

Agreed. Chan has a beautiful voice that he doesn't show off that much. I.N gets the award for most improved. I'm really liking his vocals in their most recent albums. He's matured into his voice wonderfully.

Its so hard to watch them receive the criticism in this show knowing how amazing they are now, and how much that sort of thing can truly impact a person and leave damage. But at the same time, I try to remind myself that they are their amazing selves now BECAUSE they went through all of this heartache and stress and its honestly the only thing that gets me through this. Regardless of if I like JYP or not, I cant help but respect him. He is nothing if not great in this business and he knows how to manoeuvre in the space and how and what to prepare for. Its something I think about the company JYPE too. Like them or hate them they're good at what they do and you cant help but respect that a little. I'm so glad that Chan did eventually continue rapping in their released tracks, because he IS good at it, I just think especially in this show he was spread way too thin.

Agreed. There is little room at the elite stratus of any occupation for those who cannot take rough criticism. It doesn't mean we like seeing it.
