the first few months after kwj left were hell,, not only were they preparing for a comeback that's like in less than a month but they were getting ready for their tour too. not sure if u've seen any clips of their concert but skz (esp hyunjin )was a mess during their personal ments bcus they were so scared that stays would leave bcus the nine or none promise was broken. idk if i even hav the right but i honestly havent forgiven kwj for putting skz thru those dark times (tho im sure he had it hard too) so yea the "tagline" that we use now is "eight is fate"

I think I've seen a short clip with Hyunjin that must have been from that era, yes. I can imagine it felt like their world was falling down around them.

God yes, watching Hyunjin fall to pieces at their showcase after KWJ left was so hard. He took it hard. I think they all did. There was one radio interview where Seungmin talked about that time and he said he'd had a mental breakdown over it. He really felt the added pressure of now having to pick up the slack vocally. He took extra vocal training. Felt so much pressure. Of course he didn't mention names, but he was specifically talking about that time. I'm sure they all suffered. There are episodes in Chan's Room where it's also clear. No matter what happened. And I accept that as a fan, with how this Kpop industry works, we'll never know for sure what happened. There are clues, but that's all we have. I'm just really sad that they suffered that much over it.

It really is wonderful seeing this again, through your eyes. Especially because you didn't know at the time of your reaction what the journey was like. I think it was very hard on them. But god, Minho is amazing....to still help them after his elimination. He had to leave the dorm, couldn't practice with the team anymore, thought he wouldn't debut with them, yet still helps them as much as he can and practices a lot on his own. That's loyalty, friendship...and dedication. What a hard working wonderful guy.

K-pop Auntie

Agreed. A true team player. I'm sure he had hope in the back of his mind of being brought back, but it surely didn't go that far in reducing the feeling of rejection. It must have hurt to see the guys still getting ready for more episodes, but he kept on supporting them.

K-pop Auntie

I'm sure that was a huge weight on Seungmin's shoulders. Before, he had an older member to look up to and grow with. Because Woojin genuinely has a beautiful voice. Then Seungmin was thrust to the fore. He's really risen to the occasion, though.

This show really does give some context to the situation after kwj left. I found skz after he had already left, and by that point they had been a group of 8 longer than they had been a group of 9. When i watch the early skz content, i can acknowledge that he is talented but some of the little ways he acted rubbed me the wrong way even before i learnt about how he left the group. Regardless of if anything reported about him is true, i didnt really care about him and i truly hate how his leaving caused so much pain for the others. I just kind of ignore his existence now other than watching skz conent because that honestly seems to be the best course of action and it does nothing but hurt the kids more to rehash it. He is a part of their history, and i can appreciate that, but thats where it stays. In their history for me.

K-pop Auntie

Very true. I believe SKZ desires this to be a part of their past and that we'll likely never know the full extent of what happened. And I'm okay with that.
