October Update (Patreon)

What is the recent status?

The last month was very strenuous, i have been moving to another town, and dealing with usual troubles that occurs. Mainly my time management got heavily disrupted but all in all it went well. 

Nonetheless BirdieMaps is still growing at a good rate. Thank you all ! :)

New Upload Shedule

The changes of the last poll will take action this month. From now on i will release two map packs per month. Each pack will have at least 5 maps.

At the 15th of each month i release the "Community"- Map Pack, which will consist of any kind of maps that don't fit to a certain theme similar to the previous weekly maps. Most of those maps will probably be comissioned/requested maps by the community. 

At the 30th of each month i release the "Theme" -  Map Pack. As previously you get to vote on the theme of the pack. This pack can include comissioned/requested maps by the community if they fit to the theme and are generic enough.

Whats Next?

Tier Changes
The next thing i want to tackle are the Tiers. In my personal opinion i can't see a big difference between the Adventurer and the Folk Hero Tier. Sure the Folk Hero gets more variants and access to the map packs but this only means that i have to do additional work to put something behind a paywall. I don't want to lock too much content behind paywalls. Also most maps will be free available a few weeks after their release. I haven't found a good and fair solution yet. Another survey will be up soon with a couple of options to vote for. If you have an idea feel free to comment here. :) 

Looking forward

You might know i am also working together with an amazing group on a bigger collaboration project. I don't want to get too deep into it but you will hear from it soon ;).

Expanding

If all goes well BirdieMaps will be expanding this month on other platforms too, like pinterest, drivethroughRPG and lost Atlas. The later ones are online shops for PenAndPaper Content. It will take a bit of time to upload all of the maps there but most maps and map packs will be available there too. But don't worry Patreon will still be the cheapest option if you want to get maps on a regular bases. It is mainly intended for people who just want a specific map with VTT files and background information.

Birdies VTT World

My personal campaign is reaching it's ending and i want to go back to Faerun after it. Before i am going to start that campaign i will prepare a HUGE compendium for FoundryVTT that has all 250+ maps ready to go. My ideal plan is to have a worldmap where you can zoom in on any place and have fitting battlemap ready. I have tested it a while ago and worked out well enough to accomplish it for a small country (Cormyr) in Faerun. The "Example2" shows how the maps can be aligned to each other. I think about doing it on a much bigger scale. This will happen within the next months or so. Let me know your thoughts on it :).
