I have four reasons for considering this:

1: There are artists far better and more efficient than me that charge less than I do.
2: I think more people would want to pledge if the price is lower.
3: I've been slowing down output to work on comics as well as real-life stuff, and I feel the price should reflect what is given.
4: The economy kinda sucks right now, so I wanna make things easier on people without sacrificing my livelihood.

Plus, that's $24 per year saved for my current patrons. Do you have any idea how many cheeseburgers that can buy? Like, 13! Or 4 good ones.

So, what do you think? I would ask you to consider the whole picture, and not just your wallet.

I am perfectly fine with the current rate, but I do pay for one of the higher tiers. Ultimately it is your choice and as a fan and supporter I stand by your choice 100%

Alternate idea: make a new $3 tier that has the benefits of the $5 one and grant the Karma Has Spoken questions to the $5. As it stands, Karma’s not an in-depth enough character to gate queries for her askblog behind a hefty $10 paywall. It’d grant you a wider pool of asks to draw from and would be a more fair price.

Some creators have an option for "x amount per piece of content". So like if you do nothing for a month, then people aren't charged. But if you do 10 things, then it'd be x*10 for that month.

Too drastic a change for this Patreon, but I'll keep that in mind for projects like Death's Metal that have their own Patreon.

I'm not a fan of the "Pay this much per piece" model. I'd rather have a monthly sub.

An alternate way of thinking about it is that if you lower your tier costs across the board (say a flat $2 drop on all tiers), more people will be able to afford each tier on their respective Patreon budgets. You have the potential to get more patrons that way - or more jumping up to the higher tiers - and a higher income in the long term as a result. Just make sure the adjusted income you'll be getting will still be enough to keep you going in the short term, immediately after price changes before people start responding, because getting more patrons is still only a potential. Something to think about either way.
