Art Preview - Wardrobe System (Patreon)

In the interim between updates I wanted to show off the Wardrobe System as it will appear with the addition of RD's artwork. Some of you may remember me previewing this awhile ago, but it's come a ways since then and I have some new stuff to show off!

Firstly, here's what you'll see when you first enter the wardrobe screen after starting a new game:

By using CSS grids I've managed to make the layout much cleaner than the first time around! You'll notice that thumbnails for clothing are hidden. This happens automatically when choosing to use artwork, since the visual is now reflected on your character rather than on the table.

Once you decide to change a piece of clothing, you'll be able to see the changes occur in real time within the sub-menu.

This new system also recognizing certain clothing items as being dresses. When a dress is equipped, your bottom clothing slot will automatically empty and you'll be locked out of it until you equip a non-dress top.

You'll also notice I've made bras their own clothing slot. This is, of course, in anticipation for the overhaul of the transformation system! The system is also smart enough to hide clothing that might be in the way when selecting something that appears beneath it. Underwear, for example...

Your character's appears will reflect in the wardrobe scene accessible from the bedroom, your clothing reference sheet accessible from the sidebar, and of course during dialogue scenes with other characters.

Opting to use the artwork will also replace all portraits and add the above VN style dialogue visuals to all appropriate scenes. Of course, the artwork will extend to the naught bits as well (I mean that's the point, right?) and once I have something complete enough to share you can expect to see it here!

As for the paper doll wardrobe system. I intend to release this as an option when 5.3 is complete. You'll be able to turn it on or off as desired. A complete artwork option will roll out once artwork is complete, and will be an option in addition to the current media used in the game.
