Greetings everyone! We have a few things to talk about today, so let's just jump right in!

5.2d Update Status

  • Diana's interactive event outlined - 100%
  • Diana's interactive event built - 40%
  • Feature: Dominance Stat - 100%
  • Feature: Intro Skip - 0%
  • Feature: Easier Time Pass at Work - 0%
  • Feature: TF Stat Decay - 0%
  • Feature: Birth Control - 0%
  • Address bug reports - 0%

Diana's interactive event is proving to be challenging to write, as it follows a very different model than those that have come before. That said, it's allowing for much more dynamic writing, and I think you'll find a lot to like!

From its development, the need for a way to track actual player Dominance arose, which leads me to...

New Player Stat: Dominance

I get questions all the time asking "How do I play the dominant route? How do I be a submissive?". My goal has always been that these playstyles reveal themselves naturally, behave like a submissive whore and, well, you're submissive! Playing like a sensible human being is effectively the "Dominant" route.

In an effort to make these styles clearer, as well as a need to gate or shift content more easily, there is now an official Dominance stat. This will be tracked in the sidebar and operates on a sliding scale from 0 to 100. While the numerical value will not be visible to the player, the current range will be reflected in text form. Currently, it looks like this:

  • 0-1 - Completely Submissive
  • 2-19 - Very Submissive
  • 20-39 - Submissive
  • 40-59 - Neutral - (Players start at 50)
  • 60-79 - Dominant
  • 80-98 - Very Dominant
  • 99-100 - Completely Dominant

Right now, every Dom/Sub check in the game looks for "Did you do X thing?", usually a thing involving John in the bathroom, and if you did the game will change course. Having a proper Dominance scale should make these events feel more natural and reflect how the player plays the game, rather than what events the player has encountered.

The initial implementation of this stat will focus on Diana's interactions. Your current TF trajectory can potentially impact Dominance on a nightly basis, and there will be ways to increase and decrease it when 5.2d launches. However, so as to save on development time, a more complete rollout of this new mechanic will happen gradually over time.

Touching on Tasha

The reactions to last week's post on Tasha's reintroduction were kind of all over the map. While they were primarily positive, I wanted to take a minute to expand on this change, and hopefully answer some questions!

  • Tasha's model will remain the same

If I were to introduce a new character as trans, I'd naturally use a trans model. Since there's already a level of attachment to Tasha as she is, her model will not change. Any below-the-waist shots will be updated, of course, but you'll primarily continue to interact with the current model.

  • Tasha's existing content will not be changing (much)

All of Tasha's serum content and random events will remain intact. There will, naturally, be some anatomical changes reflected both in text and imagery, but the dose choices and existing events aren't being otherwise modified.

  • Tasha doesn't want to trick anyone

Tasha's generally a shy and sweet girl, and the last thing she wants is to scare off a potential partner. Her secret is a well-kept one, and it will need to be unlocked before you'll be able to progress into any of her sexual content. The player will know what's coming, and will have enough information to decide if and how they choose to continue interacting with Tasha.

  • Tasha's trans-sexuality is not optional...

This is Tasha's new base gender, just as Penny is female or John is (usually) male. There will not be a toggle for this content.

  • ...Nor is it permanent

At some point in the future, Tasha will receive a TFM-1 serum event which will allow her to complete her transition into a full featured female. This option will come at the end of her story path, and the player will need to build a relationship with Tasha as she is before this choice can be made. Additionally, it IS a choice, and will be just one of multiple ways to conclude her path.

  • Tasha's events will mimic Penny's

As intended from the get-go, Tasha will be one of the game's "dating" options, alongside Penny and eventually Chris. As such, you'll be able to expect similar events made for her in the future including dates, day trips, apartment visits, and a similar interactive event to Penny.

  • Don't expect these kinds of major changes in the future (But also do)

I'm not saying these kinds of major character changes will never happen again, but I am going to make a conscious effort moving forward to prevent it. The change made to Tasha was not made on a whim, however I acknowledge that it may have been jarring to some. On that note, I'll be making it a point to avoid huge character overhauls in the future, and provide more transparency when they do happen.

So hopefully that helped clear up any confusion regarding the change, or at least helped answer some questions.

Speaking of Trans (and Sissies and Shemales and Bimbos oh my!)

For this week's art preview, I'm excited to finally share the completed gender spectrum for the main character!

From left to right is Male > Sissy > Trans > Shemale > Female > Bimbo. The first image has the default male wardrobe with no makeup, and the second has the default female wardrobe with light makeup, except the Bimbo, who has heavy makeup.

RD did an exceptional job at capturing the transitional gender states for the character while maintaining the character across all possible gender states.

We're now working through the entire wardrobe system, and once that concludes we'll finally be able to get to the spicy stuff!

That's it for this week! As always, thank you everyone for your continued feedback and support!

I feel like this is a good spot to mention why I'm not a fan of the change to Tasha. To clarify, I support your decision, but I feel this will actively make the character worse. It actually boils down to one RE that both defined what I love about the current character, and is impossible to have the same feel in her changed self. The scene is the one where she "gifts" the PC an item based on their genitals. As Tasha currently is this scene helps define her as a lovable ditz with a bit of an obsession with sex toys (she bought a cage she can't use and a strap on she didn't have a need for). When she accidentally locks the cage on you permanently it feels like an "oops" moment and the strap on is kinda silly but not outside of her characterization. If she has a penis though it will feel malicious when she locks you in a cage. Unlike old Tasha, this one has the ability to use the cage herself so when she "accidentally" locks you in it there will be some doubt that we're actually looking at an accident. In my head I've been trying to figure out a way where this since actually works in the same way the old one does without any success. As I said before, I do actually support your decision and I hope you find a better way than me to solve this RE, because I really like Tasha and I want the new one to feel the same.

I don’t know why Tasha buying a cage she *can’t* use and locking you in it is more suspicious than buying a cage she *can* use. For all we know, she bought it just to cause this “accident” in the first case, and actually has tried it on herself in the second. She just wanted to see if it was hot to put it on someone else, and got so excited, she broke it.

Gurt

will there be naked drawn char models?

westane

The models you see are all actually layered! Meaning, under those pieces of clothing are actual nude models. Since this post will eventually go public I didn't post them here, but I'll make an extra post just to show off the nudes later!

Don't ever defend yourself or your position voluntarily. It makes you look almost as weak as if you were apologizing. I still don't like the decision. I feel it is unnecessary, and there is enough empty space within the office at the moment that you can plop an entire separate transgender character into the cubicle farm and still have Tasha remain the same as she already is. Plus, your entire explanation reads like you couldn't think of a hook for Tasha to differentiate her from Diana and thus decided to alter her gender identity, and that comes off as kind of lazy (even though you're most certainly putting in a lot of work on the project) because there's at least a half dozen hooks you could have used for Tasha to differentiate her from her peers without resorting to altering her gender identity. In fact, I think your community of backers has already come up with several. Don't get me wrong; I'll continue to support The Company, but I still think you can do better than changing Tasha the way you have.

westane

Well, by virtue of me replying to your comment I'll probably come off as defensive, but I guess I'll eat that bullet :) There's no defending the change here, or really even me trying to "explain myself" for making it. The Tasha portion of this post was meant as more of a Q&A, since there were a lot of perfectly reasonable questions from various communities after last week's post. I felt this was a good time to expand on those changes to give people an idea of what to expect. I have no intention of wavering in this decision, but the whole point of these weekly posts is to give people insight into where the project is headed, which is what I'm doing here. I would have made the exact same post even if the change was universally loved.

While the unveiling of the Trans-Tasha was a surprise, I think your plans for Tasha as a possible dating rival to Penny (she already had caught Penny's attention with her early morning coffee visits) is very welcome. Let me add that this provides a lot more depth to Tasha's character. Not only does she have something to hide, but she has a secret desire, and for once serums may be actually used for a positive purpose rather than selfish research. By the way, I have been a huge fan of selfish research. that is one reason I am here.

I thank you for your on going hard work on this project. If at some time in the future you want to challenge yourself in a truly self punishing way, have you considered putting the "Dominance" stat on the NPC? This would allow the player to have different kinds of relationships with different characters. Example, Player is female body but trans/masculine identity wants to be dominant around women, but submissive to real men, or dominating at home, but submissive in the office.

Twisted Kidney

That's more of an "after the main plot is done" kind of idea, but it's a truly great idea.
