It's a good movie but I think there are better sports movies out there that cover the same topic (42 for instance). I'd love to see reactions to Miracle, Cinderella Man, Rudy, Hoosiers, and A League of Their Own for inspirational sports movies.

I knew George was gonna be confused by how big high school football is in the US. Yeah, it's as big as college or NFL in many parts of the country. I'd say mostly in the south, I grew up in the North East and it wasn't as important as it is in the South.

Fun movie but wildly historically inaccurate

Great movie and very first Denzel Washington film. But you in the movie when they went to camp in reality there really wasn't much racial tension with the team it was more Competition then any also Ray character all fiction In fact if there was gut like that on their team they would have kicked him out of it lol

Simone’s reaction to the Orange Julius joke explanation was hilarious! So glad I wasn’t drinking my water at the time. As for the Shotgun formation, it’s when the quarterback is a few yards behind the line of scrimmage and they snap the ball back to him, allowing him more time/field of vision to survey the field and hopefully make a good pass.

Disney has actually done a whole bunch of sports related movies along the same lines as this one: Glory Road, The Greatest Game Ever Played, Miracle, The Rookie, McFarland USA, Invincible, Secretariat plus a whole bunch of Mighty Ducks movies. I recommend both Miracle (2004) and The Greatest Game Ever Played (2005) - both are in your wheelhouse.

if you are looking for another fun movie with Donald Faison I would recommend Can't Hardly Wait.

Another non-Equalizer or action movie type Denzel Washington film you two might wanna look at is Much Ado About Nothing from 1993. It’s a comedy based on Shakespeare’s play. Don’t look at the IMDb for it either!

This is a great movie, a potential poll with some Denzel movies would be legal movies with Philadelphia, The Pelican Brief, The Firm, Snow Falling on Cedars, and To Kill a Mockingbird

It’s another movie that deals with terrible issues but I hope you guys can react to “A Time to Kill”. It’s a really great movie with a really great performance by Matthew Mcconaughey

Do yourself a favor and look up Ethan Suplee (big guy), now. A real inspiration. He's JACKED!

I'm going to enjoy this reaction, you two! This is a very happy movie. :) 68 is dinosaur age, Simone! xD I've NEVER done that before George! xD Gonna have to try it out, George! This movie IS NOT what you'll be expecting, you two. I'm disappointed that neither of you recognized Hayden Panettiere! The difference is size of school and funding for each time as a result. AAA team has more funding than AA schools. This movie's fantastic and very emotionally impacting. I fucking LOVE the acting in this movie. Highschool sports are HUGE here in America George. lol, I love the humor in this! lol, I love that you two both don't know anything about american football. It's kind of a bummer that you both don't know about this sport but at the same time it's charming that you're both giving this an attempt. I won't ever pretend to understand racism and I'll certainly never accept it. American teams have offensive and defensive coordinators but there's still the head coach who oversees everything. As a crippled guy this scene really hits me in the feels. I'm happy that he's showing courage through this but this is something that OBVIOUSLY changes things for a person and team. Here's the basic difference between normal plays and Shotgun plays. In normal plays, the Center tosses the ball right behind them to the QB so they can run the play. In Shotgun formations, they're a little bit behind them, providing more space to run their play. This has some advantages along with some disadvantages. I won't go super in detail because neither of you have a deep interest in the game, but that's the difference between a normal pass play and a Shotgun pass play. xxxCxxx QB xxxCxxx QB lmao, those are them calling plays, yeah. Each player on the team has those playcalls memorized, so they know what their QB means when he says "Blue 42" or "Red 39" or anything else. They did a great job with this movie! I'm very happy that you both enjoyed this despite you both not knowing a thing about the game! xD The two girls getting along really makes me happy, yeah! lol, it was very nice seeing how they interacted with each other. lol, sorta like a nerdy dude chilling with a jock type guy. After finishing this, I've gotta say - this reaction really made me feel happy. Thank you both for watching this! :)

Unfortunately, Sheryl also died pretty young at age 34 from a heart condition. 4 years before the movie.

BangDroid

Wow! The soundtrack to this movie is sooo good omg

Disney has a whole live action section of dramatic movies like these. A lot of them are pretty cheesy but they're gems like this one and Miracle! Hopefully y'all watch that one too! Maybe with it being Hockey you'll actually know the sport. Lol

A lot of those Disney sports films post 2000 are pretty good.
