YISSSSSSSSSS

____

Thank you both, George & Simone. I’ll do my best to help however I can. Cheers.

Travis

Simone you’re right about the new character. George is wrong. Avon said “we can always use good soldiers” implying he was a good soldier before not that he wants him to take any form of step down. George’s assumptions are way off here.

Yeah y’all ain’t ready for this season.

Haye Zeus

Nah they ain’t. But they have no choice. The ride will be awesome.

Gary Fixler

The new guy who did 14 years in prison is Chad L. Coleman, Fred Johnson from The Expanse. He was also Tyreese on The Walking Dead, and Klyden on The Orville.

Interesting! I've seen this years ago but remember surprisingly little. I thought S3 is the easiest to get into thus far. The new characters intrigued me from the get-go.

Wow, I picked exactly the right time to become a Patreon. Just binged the season 1-2 reactions and BOOM, here's S3.

*This year's version of Way Down in the Hole was recorded by the Neville Brothers, as the dock imagery from last season is replaced by images of construction and political posters. *In addition to the return of Detective Sydnor (who was absent in S2) we meet Baltimore Mayor Clarence Royce, 1st District Councilman Tommy Carcetti, Dennis "Cutty" Wise, and Detective Caroline Massey (who has a better ear for street lingo than even Prez). Major Coleman we met in Season 2, but here we see his 2nd in command Dennis Mello, played by the real Jay Landsman (he doesn't have a lot of screen time but pay attention when he's there, as his thick Bawl'mer accent is the most authentic in the series. (Since I happened to watch The Wire when it first aired, i spent the bulk of Game of Thrones referring to Littlefinger as Carcetti or Tommy.) *Since we are being introduced to local politics this season, it's worth noting that one of the images added to the opening credits is a cluster of campaign signs, including one for Nancy Pelosi. Though she represents the city of San Francisco in Congress, Ms Pelosi is was born and raised in Baltimore. Both her father and her brother served as Mayor of Baltimore. *Bill Rawls finds the perfect outlet for his assholery running the COMSTAT meetings, or should I say eviscerations. Those meetings contrast nicely with those of the Barksdale organization under Chairman Stringer Bell, run strictly under Robert's Rules of Order.

'I spent the bulk of Game of Thrones referring to Littlefinger as Carcetti or Tommy.' I do that with pretty much everyone in The Wire. Doesn't matter how many great Creed films Michael B Jordan stars in, he'll always be Wallace to me. Dominic West will always be McNulty, Idris Elba will always be Stringer and so on:)

It's kind of unfortunate that they started off with that misconception, because there are these touching humanizing scenes of his internal conflict where you can kind of just see George's brain go 'Baah, **** this guy, they're building him up to be the kingpin one day,' heh.

redddfer44

The contrast between Rawls and Stringer is a great observation, thanks!
