The major take-away from this film from release to this day is that it is the most effective movie at showing the insanity and stupidity of racist hate. Comedy has long been used to break through cultural blind spots of that sort.

Am I imagining things, or did this movie suck a bit, and everyone is pretend ing was funny. This movie fell flat, and the ending was an attempt to revive it.
