It wasn't the twist that shocked me, it was the betrayl I felt when I realized I had been hanging on the words of an unreliable narrator.

I would think that Verbal wants it known that he’s Sose otherwise he wouldn’t incorporate 15 different things from the guy’s office. He’s never in duress the detective’s threats hold no sway, he can sit quietly for 2 hrs if he wants. What’s the fun of an intricate master plan if nobody knows you did it. The point is they didn’t know until it was too late and he’s in the wind with 91 million, but then why go for the rat in the boat, because of his disdain for rats? I dunno.

That's some "Bad Hat Harry"

This reaction was so flippin' awesome! The end of the film was chef's kiss perfect. I'm so glad that you both watched this! It's a great movie. Seven was dark and twisted but this one was brilliant and dark, while being action packed. xD Glad you dug on this, the both of you. This is a great crime thriller. :)

It's impossible to map out what actually happened in this movie since there is no way to know how much of what Verbal Kint said was true and how much was artifice. Whatever the truth is, that ending is one of the best rug-pulls in cinema history.

Ah man, that's one reason I watch reaction videos, watching this again with the 'Binge reminded me of the first time I saw it, but of course knowing how it ends. Definitely a movie you have to watch multiple times to appreciate on its multiple layers. I remember this actually came out around the same time as Seven, at the time Kevin Spacey (RIP his non-creep status) was an unknown, he totally murdered that year, on screen and as a newly minted box office draw, became a big name after these two movies and then did American Beauty.

"Alan Smithee" is the pseudonym that directors have been allowed to use when they want to disassociate themselves from a project and they can show that they did not have creative control over the finished product.

It was great seeing your reactions to the ending of this movie! This one is really a gem. I recommend "Miller's Crossing" as another great movie starring Gabriel Byrne, written and directed by the Coen brothers.

I love watching people see this movie for the first time, it never disappoints.
