this is one of my favorite movies. in regards to the fight at the end between Riggs and Mr. Joshua, I always thought it was because they are both special forces and so it was a kind of contest between them to see whos better. plus they justified letting the fight happen because he killed 2 officers so they were more then happy to beat the crap out of him.

Since you asked why they ended up fighting, first of all, because they threatened Riggs, Murthaugh, and especially Murthaugh's family, who were not involved. Also, this was a longer plan, as Hunsaker tried to talk to Murtaugh, and Joshua set himself up as 'boyfriend' of Murtaugh's daughter. Further, they tortured Riggs and Murtaugh, and Riggs in particular also wants to punish Joshua personally and knows he can fight well enough to beat him. Additionally, Joshua took the whole situation back to a personal level by showing up at the Murtaughs' home again and killed two officers. Finally, the situation is seemingly certain anyway, Joshua will not escape, but Riggs has stated earlier in the film that 'he ran into some Shadow Company pussies' in Saigon. Two different special forces who absolutely dislike each other, so he and at least some members of the Shadow Company had a conflict even then. Besides these 'reasons' - it's the 80s, just getting him arested would have been boring, so let's have a nice fight and with that the build up for them to shoot Joshua together as he takes the officer's gun. 😊 The other films are on the same level I would say, so well worth watching. Personally, I really liked the series too, but a lot of people dismissed it because it (obviously) wasn't with Danny Glover and Mel Gibson. But a lot of stuff from the movies is incorporated into the series in one form or another, and I personally thought the leads played very well in the series, and you don't realize that they didn't actually get along during filming. 😉 Oh and lastly, yes in this movie the meme 'I'm too old for this shit!' started. 😂

Joshua did not set himself up as Rianne's boyfriend. Her boyfriend was a 17yr old, and he was killed when they kidnapped her. The call to Murtaugh from dispatch was "We got a body for you. Male caucasian, age 17"

The only dislike I have on this channel is only reacting to the first film on so many franchise films. I'd assume fans would wanna see your reactions/watch along to the sequels just as much if not more.
