Jurassic Park - Patreon Version

In the middle of watching this reaction, and it's great so far. I'm only at the part that just introduced Samuel L. Jackson, and I just wanted to say, Grant and Sadler aren't together. They never were. The writers have confirmed this. They are both into each other and want more than friends, but neither has made the first move, and they're just very close friends. When Malcom asked Grant if they were a thing and Grant said yes, he said that because he's into her and wanted to put Malcom off her.

Starting the watch a long now. Currently there are technically 5 Jurassic Park movies. Jurassic Park 1-3, and Jurassic World 1 and 2. Jurassic World 3 is due out this summer, but we shall see if it comes out with everything that’s going on. People will tell you to skip some of them, but I would watch them all. The first one is absolutely the best, but all of them are fun, and involve lots of people running and screaming, and dinosaurs chasing them and sometimes eating them. All of them are very funny on some level as well, intentionally or not. They will all make great reactions.

Raven Dark

I'm leaving separate comments like this because when I try to edit them, Patreon has a habit of eating them. Yeah, Simone, I'm thinking that your parents decided to leave right around the time the kids started screaming in terror when the dino was trying to get at them. Or maybe it was when the dino ate the lawyer. Heehee!

I'm sorry, folks, I'm late to the party... Is there a list of things you've seen outside the reaction channel? So there aren't redundant recommendations? Is there a particular place to make recommendations?

For the reason Raven stated, I will leave another comment. The tour has just started. I went to an animal safari when I was around 15 with my family. We spent a weekend seeing exotic animals from around the world, and had several multi course meals. This was in the mid 90s, and it was around $3000 for four people. It was a large complex of several thousand acres in north Texas, somewhere around Dallas and Fort Worth.

Raven Dark

Yeah, I always had the impression that the park in this movie is a lot like a safari. And it's absolutely a thing when the animals decide not to come out, so all you get is a lot of scenery. I've never been to one like what you described, Jedi, but I have been to a much smaller one here in Canada. It was fun. In the one we went to, you could rent a car to go around the park, or you could take your own. My foster parents took their own. Big mistake. We went into the area with the baboons, and the baboons started pulling the windshield wipers off and trying to take off the rubber things around the windows. Good, scary fun.

What a great reaction, guys. As I knew it would be. In my opinion, which I think is a very unpopular one, I would stop here. The others aren't nearly as good and have enough problems where they may be a letdown. I don't know for sure past the first Jurassic World film because I haven't seen them, but I had a hard time even getting into that one. But again, that's just me, and I don't know that there is a lot who think like me. YMMV.

I'm so glad you are watching this series! I saw this movie in the theater when I was 10 years old, and to this day I think it still holds up as one of the great films of all time. Please do watch the whole series! Obviously there are some films better than others, but I think on the whole the entire series is worth seeing. Incidentally, this movie was originally a book written by Michael Cricheton. But this wasn't the first time that Cricheton had written a story about a theme park breaking down and the guests safety on the line. In the 1970's he wrote a little movie called "Westworld" which is about a theme park of the future where the robots who look like people eventually turn on the guests. Of course, there's a modern day tv show of Westworld, which is FANTASTIC, and you can see the influence in this film from the earlier idea. Keep up the great reactions! Love being a patron and seeing your full video reactions. :)

I have only watched first new movie with Chris Pratt and it was not bad. Kind of a reboot of this one with some modern twists, but very similar.

Cinebinge

Oh interesting! That's crazy, I thought for sure they were partners haha

Ok, I looked around, and I am pretty sure this is where we went on safari. It was around 25 years ago, but I recognize the logo, and they have cabins on the property. The main impression it left on me was I was no longer a big fan of zoos or places like Sea World after I had been here, the animals were obviously and objectively happier at this place than animals I had seen elsewhere. https://www.texassafari.com/

I wouldn't recommend the other Jurassic Park movies. They basically have no creative new ideas. It's all the same, but dumber.

That weird file explorer that had the rendered files was called File System Navigator and was part of the SGI irix os. It was sort of a kitchy 3D explorer. Not really how you would normally work, but there to show off the graphics. At the time it was amazing.

PickettsChargingPort

Seconded. I think I walked out on 2. If you put a hockey mask on the raptors you have Friday the 13th with dinos.

I would recommend watching the other Jurassic Park films. You may like them, you might not. I thought that was the point of a reaction channel, to see honest reactions.. to the good, the bad, and the ugly. I don't understand people only wanting you to react to things they think you'll like.

How many sequels will it take before people realise opening a dinosaur theme park is not a good idea? I wouldn't bother with the sequels, none of them stand out like the original nor do they do anything fresh and new. If you're looking for good sequel suggestions Back to the Future would be my recommendation.

These are some of my guilty pleasure movies, so I would recommend watching them all. Just as a interesting sidenote Michael Crichton wrote the book that this is based on as well as co-wrote the Screenplay. Before the book was published Spielberg heard about it and optioned it. After the success of the first one fans and the studios pressured him in to writing a sequel. Barely any of the second book was used.

George, I always thought the same as you did, that the 3D computer application Lex uses was a silly example of 'Hollywood doesn't get computers.' We were both wrong though - it was totally real. It's an experimental file system navigator that Silicon Graphics built for their IRIX (UNIX-based) OS They were trying to use (at the time) cutting edge graphics to more easily display complex information. It has since been ported to UNIX, and that version works on OSX if you want to fiddle with it - just search for 'file system visualizer'. Regarding the sequels, there are two direct sequels that are both quite bad and some modern 'Jurassic World' reboots that are okay but not amazing. None of them had Michael Crichton's excellent novel to work from like the original did, so the writing goes downhill shockingly fast and needless to say none of the other directors who take it up are Spielberg's equal.

I believe the new theory is that dinosaurs did not go extinct at all. Nor did they evolve into birds. The new theory is that birds are not different enough from dinosaurs to be considered a separate kind of animal. The branch of the Animal Kingdom that was the dinosaurs had developed flight and feathers before they qualified as what was eventually known as the dinosaurs.

no one should ever tell you not to watch a sequel....period. of any movie series. yes movies sometimes have bad sequels, but thats for YOU to decide. Michael Crichton wrote a novel of "Jurassic Park" and it's sequel "the lost world," both of which Steven Spielberg directed. after that it's Hollywood sequels. Jurassic Park is my favorite movie and the Lost world is a good sequel(my opinion).
