This is commonly referred to as "The Dark Knight Trilogy". Ledger actually locked himself in a room for about a month as part of his preparation for the role. While there, he made a journal which had his thoughts and ramblings as a madman, pictures of Alex from "A Clockwork Orange" and the final words in it are, "BYE BYE". Apparently, he could take it out, flip through it and instantly get into character. And you commented on his makeup; Ledger sis his own makeup too. You can see it on his hands as well. Those of us familiar with other Batman media, as soon as we heard the name Harvey Dent knew this wasn't going to end well. The next movie was going to continue the Joker's story, but Ledger's death derailed those plans. Another Batman movie to check out is "Mask of the Phantasm", based on the early 90s animated series.

Love how innocent you both were going in to such a surprisingly dark movie. You're right, they took the trilogy in a completely new direction with this one and it was awesome.

Love your reactions so far. I have been watching a loving movies for so long it's rare to find people that haven't seen some of these famous titles you're covering. To answer the question you had at the beginning, the 1st two Batman movies were Michael Keaton, the next one was Val Kilmer and then George Clooney. My loyalty lies with Marvel mostly but I do always hope for good DC films because in general, super hero films are my favorite genre. Your channel is growing a lot I see and I think that is awesome, keep up the good work.

A skyhook can refer to at least a couple of things. There's what's in this movie and there's a deus ex machina... I guess what's in this movie is both, now that I think of it. There are probably other meanings I don't know.
