George, if you enjoy competence porn, give the show Burn Notice a try. It is entirely about some of the most preternaturally and creatively competent people just solving the hell out of impossible situations with relatively plausible methods. And the main character narrates throughout to explain how they're doing it. Also, Bruce Campbell is one of the main characters, and he's just never not fun to watch.

The bingo winner's cats being named Oscar and Felix is a reference to The Odd Couple, which was originally a stage play about a slob named Oscar and a neat freak named Felix who both get divorced and wind up as roommates. It was adapted into a 1968 movie with Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon, then a popular 70s sitcom. There have also been a couple sitcom remakes including one in 2015 that starred Matthew Perry as Oscar. Maybe a stretch but I think there's a bit of an Oscar and Felix dynamic with Jimmy and Mike.. or Jimmy and Chuck maybe? It's funny though, because Jimmy can take on either role depending on who his counterpart is. The duality of Jimmy.

I agree: the firm is going to take this case from Jimmy. As soon as Chuck got involved, they got involved. Jimmy found the case, absolutely, but Chuck appears to be doing all the legal work, while Jimmy sleeps. With $6 million dollars on the line, their share of the possible $20 million dollars settlement, there's no way the firm lets Slippin' Jimmy try the case. They'll want their team to step in. I also think that's why Chuck wasn't excited to hear his brother passed the bar. He's still sees him as Slippin' Jimmy, and he sees Jimmy's membership in the bar as his latest con. He wants nothing to do with him. Jimmy asking Chuck for a job had to be Chuck's worst nightmare.

The bearded man on the "wanted" poster directly above Jimmy (Bob Odenkirk) in the opening scene is later spotted in the restroom of the diner whilst Jimmy is on the phone.

I think the Kettlemans are great for the beginning of the show. I like their dynamic, I love that they are a conniving criminal conspiracy run by Betsy, and that they hide it all behind their happy-go-lucky nuclear family. And that the family is not a façade, it is really them. My only problem with them is, I absolutely know why Jimmy wants them as his clients, he really doesn't have anyone else. But why would HHM want them in the first place? They are obviously idiots, and they are clearly guilty. It's a big case but it offers HHM nothing but bad publicity.

I'm so glad you are enjoying the show, I knew you would like all the Mike scenes but many complain the show starts too slow but I never thought that. Also I didn't catch this in previous watchings but when Mike's daughter in law asks him if he can watch his granddaughter he opens the gate and waves someone through without checking for stamps

i love that mrs kettleman actress Julie Ann Emery has gone one too many good parts

I don’t feel that bad for Jimmy he didn’t get to keep the 30k. It wasn’t his. He took it as a bribe from people who stole it from others. His girlfriend gets them as clients so he is still benefitting
