Without a doubt, one of my favorite thumbnails lmao

Really? I thought it was lazy, since George just posted a picture of himself from high school. And yes, I am joking. I loved the thumbnail.

In my opinion this film is exceptional for two things. Outstanding acting work by the entire cast. All 6 actors did an incredible job. For me, great acting is the ability to portray complex motivations or conflicting emotions. Every performance in this film shows people struggling with issues on many levels and one of those is trying to get along with the the other 5 characters on top of their personal struggle. Abigail Breslin is amazing and, unlike many of your commenters, Alan Arkin isn't actually a drug and sex addicted old man who appears to be the only person paying any attention to his granddaughter and she is the only person that's paying attention to him. Maybe that's why they both got Oscer nominations, and Alan Arkin obviously wone. The other thing remarkable about this film is the incredible visual storytelling particularly inside a moving vehicle. The shots the director and cameraman were able to get were amazing and never did you feel like you were watching camera work, you just saw the scene unfold. Also, good call George, spoting the van as a metaphor for the family.

Olive being left at the gas station and then having to jump aboard the moving van is basically the plot of "The Martian" without the science :-)
