Release 10.2.1, attached below, introduces a workaround for the crashes that some of you have been experiencing in chapters 12 and 13 of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.

Unfortunately,  the crashes are caused by a game bug that for the moment I have been unable to fix. In some specific points of certain levels, the game crashes inside the D3D12 runtime if the field of view approaches or exceeds 90 degrees. That doesn't happen in 2D because the game limits the FOV, but in VR I need to force the exact FOV required by the headset and that triggers the bug.

As a workaround, I modified my virtual 2D screen management for the Uncharted titles so that it won't override the game FOV anymore. So, for any problematic areas that make the game crash, you can now simply go to the "ULOTC" tab of the mod overlay and check "Force 2D virtual screen". Once you're past the buggy section you can disable the virtual screen again and continue playing in VR seamlessly, without needing to quit the game or rename/move files.

On my system I was unable to repro any crashes throughout chapter 12. But the game does crash for me about 5 minutes into chapter 13, after the cutscene with the light signals. The problematic area of the level is the open ocean to the right (if I don't look in that direction the game won't crash even in VR). After you climb a little to the left, and the ocean gets farther away, the level won't crash anymore.

Hi, is that working with the ubisoft connect version of the game ? Thanks.

Yes, it should work fine :) Just make sure to look at the release post. Depending on what version you get the mod files will go in the bin folder or binplus folder.

Continuing to enjoy Hogwarts Legacy. I discovered that I could not select a very small number of talents, and the problem is NOT the R.E.A.L. fix (described in https://steamcommunity.com/app/990080/discussions/0/3773490215215524858/). However, the solution requires the game display mode to be changed to Windowed mode, in order to access these talents. The mod does NOT like Windowed mode, and it can be very difficult to re-enable the correct display mode again. After rerunning RealConfig.bat, I could reset the correct display mode, but I also had to clear Hogwarts Legacy ProgramData cache again to stop a new game crash. The in-game menu screens and information overlays (like available spells) are now scaled beyond the HMD display view, and are only shown at the correct scale when forced to 2D via the mod, while character/environment scaling is correct. I cannot change the scaling of these display elements with in-game or R.E.A.L. settings. I have verified all local file content and re-run RealConfig.bat several times. What can I do to restore the normal scaling for all display elements?

If you don't have a bunch of mods installed, nuking the game folder and reinstalling is how I fixed it when the same thing happened to me :) Just make sure to check out the game settings first and make sure something didn't get changed there. Not locked at 60fps, Vsync is off and DLSS sharpening is not on. I am sure you already have the interposer file renamed as well but those are all things that could mess up the scaling.

I have a problem with my vision: I see a little double view. What should I do to improve settings?

Brandon(Post Maester)

Hi Marco What headset are you using and how is it connected if not Displayport? Can you put a copy of your RealVR64.log file on pastebin or drive or something like that and post the link here please? Also please try to explain double view a bit ;)

Why would the Hogwarts HUD not show up in the headset? I'm running a 4090 and Varjo Aero. I downloaded the latest mod today and it seems to otherwise be working. I have seen a youtube video showing the HUD, so I assume there's a fix?

Brandon(Post Maester)

It should be there. Did you rename the interposer file per the games install instructions? I'll link the release post below for reference. Also make sure you don't have DLSS sharpening on and the game is not locked at 60 fps in the settings. https://www.patreon.com/posts/hogwarts-legacy-78458454
