Hey everyone,
Not the most exciting picture, but it should let you know which character is occupying my time right now. I can't show more than that because, well, you'll see! This has been one of the smoothest development cycles in months, and I'm rather pleased with how the events are going. As the story continues to develop, it's gets more and more difficult to add content to it without stepping over all of the various ongoing plot points. Thankfully, since these events are all motivated by the Midpoint Event, it's provided a nice baseline to bring the main cast's reaction front and center.
I received a rather interesting question this week in my inbox regarding what "world" Superheroes Suck takes place in, and if I were using some type of Marvel / DC elseworlds story. I can confirm that it is not the case. One, for the obvious legal reasons, and two, I'm not sure those universes lend themselves well to a credible harem story. Really, if I were making a DC parody, I'm sure fans of that intellectual property would prefer if I used existing characters instead of filling the spotlight with my own creations. Superheroes Suck takes place in it's own world and with a wholly original cast, all of which I have created myself.
As for the world building aspect of the story, I've kept these details intentionally vague. The majority of Superheroes Suck's writing is dialogue, and I don't enjoy world building through dialogue. I did what I needed to so that the game's story was coherent, but I try to keep exposition to a minimum if it's not going to serve a character's own development. Really, it's the characters that interest you in the world, and it will be the character's arcs that draw you into that world. Fleshing out this setting will become more of a priority during the sandbox overhaul.
Aside from that, development is continuing well. Feel free to send me more questions and I'll answer them as best as I can, without spoilers, in the next Progress Report.
Thank you for all of your support,
