Thank you so much for reacting to Kard! I just found your channel, subscribed an became Patreon right away! Kard is my ult group. Love that you picked up on the Latin influence. Its kind of their signature. Not all their songs have it but most do have a latin influence in some way. I will give you some very basic info on them. First let me address the more wavy then hard hitting choreo and the “they don’t give a F attitude on stage”. They have harder choreo’s then this but because of the latin influence their music is often kind of viby and a more fluid, wavy choreo suits that. Also they need to make choreo’s that fit both the guys and girls. Now you were pretty spot on with the attitude. Its not that they don’t care, but they no longer try to fit the kpop standard as they know by now they never will. Korea audience has a hard time accepting a co-ed group. They are also the only relatively successful one still active. But their int fanbase (specialy Latin America) is waaaayyy bigger then their Korean fanbase. They officialt debuted in 2017 so they have been around. Even renewed a contract last year and with that passing the “7 year curse” mark yet they have 0 wins on music shows! While at the same time they have done 4 world tours and starting their 5th right now. Been to North and South America, Europe, (South east) Asia. Not huge stadiums but they always sell out. Its almost like they aren’t seen as idols and they don’t act like it either. If you look at the lyrics, what current idol includes the line “she wants more then the tip, I aint talkin bout guidance”? Whole song is about sexual innuendos.  And there are more explicit songs on the album. BM (green hair) even featured on a Jessi track years ago and ended his verse with “If its bout the hustle or the p*ssy, I don’t play around!” They are known to be wild and very unfiltered of stage too. Now the members: BM (Big Matthew). Green hair guy. Born 1992 in L.A. Main dancer, Lead rapper, sub vocalist, songwriter and producer. Very unfiltered, forgets he’s an idol and ripped AF J.Seph. Brown haired guy. Born 1992. Eldest. Main rapper, lead dancer, sub vocalist, songwriter. (the guys always write their own raps and sometimes parts for the girls too). Been to the military in 2020. Kard had a 2 year hiatus because of it.  Somin. Black haired girl with the blue hat. Born 1996. Main vocalist, Visual (although all 4 are), No official dancer position but all 4 are very good dancers. Youtuber “Somin 소민”. Does vlogs, behind the scenes, Q&A, makeup tutorials. Jiwoo. Red haired girl. Born 1996. Maknae. My (ult) bias. Main dancer, Lead vocalist, rapper. Jiwoo is known for her charismatic stage presence and fierce attitude. Been on music competition shows Good Girl and Double Trouble. Has a team with her friends with whom she does photoshoots. She models, takes photo’s and been creative director. They even got one of their projects published in a Italian magazine. I haven’t called them songwriters but recently the girls have started writing for their songs too. The members often stress how all of them are heavily involved in the music making and creative process and it seems Jiwoo is very involved in everything they do. Thank you for the time you took to write this, its very informative and what you said about the choreo explains a lot. Yeah I kinda noticed that they dont rly try to fit into the idol kpop standard which I also like. I will defo be looking into a guide on them and listening to more of their songs.
