Delia couldn’t believe that it was 2021 and she was still having to deal with sexist bullshit at college, all because she happened to be a girl who loved football. She’d been raised by two dads and had two older brothers, growing up she hadn’t had much choice when it came to evening entertainment so of course she ended up getting hooked and religiously following the sport. It often alienated her from the other girls her age and even boys were intimidated by her knowledge of the sport and how much of her life revolved around it.

The downside of her love of football though was that she often encountered obstacles when it came to her desire to actually play. Back in high school she’d been met with suggestions that she join the cheerleaders or gymnasts clubs instead. With the help of her family and friends though she had successfully campaigned and was able to join the school’s football team as a wide receiver, although she hadn’t played more than a single quarter for any of their games in her senior year. Her presence on the team had given the school some praise in the local media and that had been enough for them, her own talent be damned.

Unfortunately college was a whole different maze to navigate and no matter how hard she - or her fathers, who had attended every one of her high school games - tried to convince the coaches that she’d be a better player than any of the slackers they currently had on the team, they were firm in insisting that it was a boys team and the only way she could be involved was as a cheerleader on the sidelines. Delia burned with anger any time she heard that and although she had actually joined the cheerleading team, she still desperately wished that she could be out on the field taking snaps and putting her football-focused mind to use.

Delia’s love of football was hardly a secret on campus and while there were number of guys who thought it was cool that a self-proclaimed “girly girl” (Delia still loved rocking pink and decorating her nails) was super into their favorite sport, some members of the team had taken to tormenting her and even calling her a “dyke”. Worst among them was Ryder, the team’s quarterback and the most entitled asshole Delia had ever had the displeasure of crossing paths with. She’d actually thought he was hot at first with his perfectly symmetrical features, baby blue eyes and well-groomed appearance, but his personality ruined all that and exposed him as just as ugly as some of the trolls she had fought off back in high school.

The worst thing about Ryder though was that he was a mediocre quarterback at best. Every time he fumbled the ball or took a sack Delia thought about what she would have done differently to make a more successful play. She knew she wasn’t alone on that either - there were definitely guys on the time who were irritated whenever Ryder messed up - but he was the head coach’s pet project and there was no way anyone was going to be replacing him as starting quarterback for as long as he was still taking classes. Delia burned with anger that a waste of space like Ryder had a locked down position on the team while she didn’t get to play at all, not even during practice games. How was that fair?

She vented her frustrations to her eldest brother Rich who had recently graduated after majoring in psychology and had started up his own practice in their hometown. Her brothers had always been good to her but Delia knew that Rich gave great advice and always thought rationally before he spoke, which was why she had come to him for help. His first question after she’d finished talking took her by surprise though: “So if you had the chance to take Ryder’s place as starting quarterback, would you?”

Despite the surprise of the question, Delia didn’t even need to think about her response. “In a heartbeat,” she confirmed. She’d never felt so sure of anything in her life before.

Rich inspected her closely for a moment before getting out of his armchair and walking towards one of the shelves which lined the walls of his office. He returned a moment later with a small purple crystal and held it out between them. Delia accepted it and held it close to inspect it closely, her confusion rising. “I want you to put that under your pillow when you go to sleep tonight and think about what you would do if you were the starting quarterback,” he instructed, his tone as neutral as if he was calmly telling her what his grocery order was and not making a crazy suggestion to her. As if sensing her confusion, he spoke again: “Have I ever given you bad advice?”

Delia shook her head. That was the precise reason she had come to Rich in the first place. Her other brother, Hayden, was much more impulsive and as such his suggestions weren’t really all the best ideas. Deciding to maintain her trust in her older brother, Delia confirmed that she’d do as she was told and left him to work with his actual paying clients rather than his hotheaded sister. She wasn’t lying either - that night she placed the small crystal beneath her pillow and then relaxed back, imagining herself out on the football field barking out plays at her team. That was where she belonged and she knew it, now she just needed everybody else to know it…

The next morning Deke woke to find his sheets tented with his morning wood. Letting out a groan, he slipped a hand under his boxer shorts and began to stroke the length before his mind caught up to what he was doing. Wait… I’ve got a cock? The new appendage certainly came as a surprise but as he opened his eyes and stared about him, Deke realized that he only partially recognized his surroundings. It was still his room but the colour palette of his decorations had changed from pink to blue and the clothes scattered around the floor were definitely all male. There was not a single sign of his former identity as a female but one thing was made certain by the shelf full of trophies above his bed: he was still totally kickass at playing football!

Checking under his pillow, Deke frowned as he failed to locate the purple crystal his older brother had given him the night before. Even a more thorough investigation around the bed failed to turn up the missing object and before long he decided to give up on his search. Was it really important enough to bother wasting the morning hours on when he could be getting down to the gym? The guys on the team had been talking about hitting a heavy chest workout and even though Deke already had a nice pair of pecs he knew that he could get them looking even better with a few rounds of bench press and cable crossovers.

Inspecting himself in the bedroom mirror, Deke was pleased with what he saw. He had to be around one-hundred and eighty pounds with a pretty low body fat percentage, judging by the definition of his abs. Any sign of his former girlish features was gone, replaced by broad shoulders, a square jaw and a healthy dose of morning stubble. This was precisely the kind of male body that Delia had always admired but now he felt no sexual desire towards it, only the desire to perfect his physique. It was clear that he still identified as straight, only now that meant he was fantasizing about cheerleaders with big tits and short skirts rather than their male equivalents.

Once he was up and dressed in some gym gear that he had collected from the bedroom floor that didn’t stink too badly, Deke departed his room and soon found himself exposed to more changes in the world around him. A number of guys that he passed by stared at him in envy, whereas some the girls’ eyes lingered on the strong muscles of his arms and his glutes as he passed them with a walk that was more of a cocky swagger than anything else. He couldn’t help but feel confident: he was a star of the football team, for crying out loud! Life was damn good, like it was always supposed to be!

Upon arriving at the gym and greeting his teammates though, Deke was reminded that there was one more obstacle to achieving his ultimate goal of being the starting quarterback: Ryder. There was no denying that Deke was getting more time on the field than he ever had as Delia but while Ryder remained the coach’s favorite there was no way Deke was getting bumped up to starter, even if his stats were way better and he had a better relationship with the other guys. Ryder was the golden boy and that presented a big problem.

Thankfully there were many ways that problems could be solved and Deke was more confident than ever that his position as starting quarterback was well within his reach...
