Crime levels dropped once courts all around the world introduced the new systems of punishment. Prisons were overcrowded and there desperately needed to be some sort of change. It was Maxwell Oxforth, a British man in his late fifties with a bushy silver beard and proud round gut, that introduced the concept of "imprisonment by possession" that has since become the favorite sentence of many courts, especially in the United States and United Kingdom.

We'll take Corey Douglas as our example of somebody who's been sentenced with this new punishment. Despite only twenty-one years old, he had racked up a rather impressive record filled with shoplifting, jaywalking and even refusing to cooperate with the police. He was becoming notorious at the local police station simply because he was such a jackass that nobody really wanted to deal with him.

Corey was the type of guy who relied on his looks to get by. He had benefited greatly from the genetic lottery and being born into a family with more money than sense certainly hadn't helped matters. The entitlement never earned him any trouble from his family but it certainly didn't sit well for the local Sheriff, especially when he busted Corey dealing drugs to underage kids from the local boarding school.

A chaotic trial followed and even though the Douglas family hired some of the best lawyers money could get, Corey was eventually found guilty and sentenced to two years of "Imprisonment By Possession". A name was drawn from the judge's long list of potential possessors and Corey was escorted from the courtroom to await his imprisonment.

While serving their sentence, convicts remain inside their bodies but lose all control of their limbs, words and even thoughts. Their bodies are given to terminally ill patients from the local hospitals in order to allow them to experience some pain-free peace. For the whole sentence, the convict is forced to come to terms with their misdoings while somebody else enjoys all the intricacies and benefits of their lives.

Corey just hoped that he hadn't had one of those crooked judges who put in the small print that his possessor had the option to extend his time in the younger man's body for as long as he liked. Everybody had heard those stories but nobody knew if they were true, nor did they really want to inquire lest they mysteriously end up in trouble with the law and risk that fate.

It wouldn't be for another two years until Corey got to find out though, and until then he'd just have to live with the fact that he had a seventy-three year old homosexual man flaunting his youthful body and enjoying every single moment as the new Corey Douglas!
