Hey sweet insomniacs,

Christmas is approaching rapidly and I have to admit that I already feel that childlike excitement coming up. Well, I guess I triggered it myself by filming a Christmas themed video last week, which I really enjoyed. You probably saw it already. If so, I hope it brought you some festive tingles! :)

I almost wouldn't have been able to keep my schedule and post the video on Sunday, but I'm glad that I did, against all odds. I filmed it very last minute on Saturday night and edited it on Sunday afternoon. The reason for that is that I was in the hospital all week.

Monday morning I woke up with a slight and dull pain in my lower back which got increasingly worse in a couple of minutes until I was in absolute agony. I knew instinctively that this is serious and not just a pulled muscle or something. I called the ambulance and got rushed to the hospital.

There I sat in the waiting area for hours and hours afraid of dying and slowly breathing like a woman in labor pains. I guess you can compare it to that, because the pain came in waves. The medical ultrasound showed that a large kidney stone was blocking my ureter which caused the colics.

They brought me to another hospital which is specialized on such issues and I got a surgery next morning after a horrible night with a lot of pain killers and infusions. The therapy lasted three more days after that until I finally got out on Saturday morning.

It was a great relief to come home. The first thing I did was going to bed because I couldn't sleep a wink all week because the guy I shared my room with was snoring terribly. After I woke up I stared preparing the shoot of my video which I filmed the very same night. I'm completely nuts, ain't I? :D

Although I can assure you that I recovered really well, I'm almost my normal self again.

Whatever, just in case we don't hear from each other until Christmas:

May your stockings be filled with gifts and surprises and may your home be filled with love and happiness.

Have a blessed Christmas sweet insomniacs.

Love,

Michael
