Hey sweet insomniacs,

did you enjoy All Hallows' Eve? I didn't do much admittedly. I was just lazy on the couch, watching old scary movies with my loved ones, nibbling sweets and treats. It was wonderful!

Well I celebrated it in some way with my latest video, which was so much fun to make. I'd say it was probably the most fun experience I had so far creating a video, which means something, because as you know, I love doing them in general. I guess it has to do with the fact that I am a great horror nerd and that I always loved the Halloween season, although it's not a big thing here in Germany.

So I went to our local costume shop last week for some inspiration and went home with a big bag filled with with bones, organs, plastic knives, theatre make up and lots of fake blood.

I evolved a little story in my mind about me becoming a werewolf. That's the kind of fantastic creature that suits me quite good I guess. I've built a little set out of twigs and some of my sad home plants to create the illusion of being outdoor. I didn't wanna do green screen for this, but all practical effects instead for that old school horror feeling.

Frank was supposed to be a Zombie. So I painted him with some rotten spots and animated a pair of new “undead” eyes. I also enhanced some of the props that I bought by painting them, because they looked a bit too fake for my demands. I had to dub in proper sounds for some of these because they sounded all like hollow plastic instead of metal for instance.

The greatest challenge was my werewolf make up. I never did that before, so I spent 3 hours gluing on fake hair and pointed ears, painting on thicker eyebrows and dark shadows around my eyes. I'm pretty proud of the result I have to say. Getting that stuff of was just as hard I'd say. My beard was so messed up with that sticky make up glue that I had to shave it off completely, which is a great sacrifice for me.

I was really happy that Lucy, aka Creative Calm ASMR joined the video last minute to do a little cameo in this. She did it so well and I'm very thankful for that. It adds a nice touch to the video to have a scream queen.

Well, that was my ASMR contribution to the Halloween season. What's coming up next you may ask. Well, today marks a special occasion because it's my 1 year anniversary. Twelve month ago I posted my first video “TINGLE – The ASMR Pokémon”. I wouldn't have dreamed that I get that far with my little project within that short time. I thoroughly enjoyed it so far, and I intend to continuously work hard on it to provide you guys with relaxation and tingles. Your friendship and kindness is my greatest reward.

Big hugs to YOU!

Michael
