Review:

2D H Sekiro.

That would be the most accurate way of describing Aikagura without going into details. But since you clicked on "continue reading", then lets dive into them.

I've been itching for a while now for a decent NEW H side-scroller.
They do come out here and there, but I'm talking the full experience: skills tree, exp, parry, you know, the usual that separates an glorified interactive gallery from a real competent game.

While it may not be anywhere near as deep as the GOTY, it tries its best, and for what it's worth as a low budget H project - asking for anything beyond what we've got here would feel a bit greedy.

🕹️ Aikagura is a platformer focused at swordfighting.
Control Mitsuki the heroine with double jump, dodge, basic attack combo, parry, heal, a diversity of unlockable skills and spells, and a special transformation that buffs your attack speed and damage, but makes you squishier.

There isn't a whole lot of complexity to explore (Mostly linear with fork roads), as the game mainly focuses at combat, with the occasional unlockable reward here and there at the optional short dead-ends.

There are 3 difficulties, I played on the "intended" Hard mode, where enemies will attack at reasonable intervals, giving you enough time to react and handle them one by one, or all at once if the situation allows. (being a side-scroller, multiple enemies can be hit together)

One of the things that pleased me right off the bat was the range of unique enemies with their own patterns, and of course their own H interactions that we'll touch later.

Do mind that the devs wanted to bring us the full Sekiro / Souls experience, which means that anything your size or taller (or wider) will hit you hard, in some cases you'll get clapped in 3 hits, so play with caution and time your dodge (I prefer jumping away) and parry carefully.

Both you and enemies have a posture meter that will render either of you defenseless if broken. Any attack reduces posture, but parrying and special attacks will greatly damage it.

Skills cost SP, and can be used quite sparingly, as the SP bar refills relatively quickly. Another big plus in my eyes when the player isn't stuck most of the time mashing the same button, while also making every skill viable in its own right.

Said skills are unlocked from exploration pick ups, or as special boss rewards.
Obtaining them isn't enough, since you also need to unlock them with the skill points earned through exp gained.
As for exp - there are no increasing stats per level, but passive skills that act as stat increase. (increased cost per level)

I found the combat overall surprisingly satisfying, a lot of said satisfaction comes from the satisfying sword clashing sound effects and the cute heroine's voice acting that certainly completes the doujin experience.

💕 While on the subject, all of the H scenes are the classic ACT interactions:
Get knocked out 👉 get knocked up 👉 choose to respawn or view the more elaborated game over CG.

Truthfully, the artwork isn't the most detailed, personally however - judging the experience as a whole, a 7/10 or even god forbid 6/10 is more than enough for me.
Both the enemies and CG animations are on short loops, but detailed enough to provide a good amount of entertainment.

⚠️ If you're looking for some kinks or wild fetishes, this ain't your address.
We get a taste of all the H checkmarks in a non-offensive vanilla flavors: penetrations, tentacles, vore, restraining, BBC, slime, non-graphic violence - all in different positions and forms.

Admittedly, I always expect these games to break boundaries, since if they're already sold to mature audience, then may as well throw some messed up content that can only exist in fantasy right? but alas, another messed up intestines won't make this game as memorable as playing a f***ing H Sekiro.

What a time to be alive.
