Review:

If there is ONE artists that can mimic the Dragon Ball style PERFECTLY, it would have to be without a doubt the legendary YamamotoDoujinshi.

Whenever you'll come across DB H that looks just like the source material across the web, take a quick look at the credits - chances are it was made by Yama-sama.

Yama has blessed us with a lot of content over the 9 years he's been in the scene.
Today however, we'll be taking a closer look at one of his flagship series:
Kame Paradise (カメ PARADISE).

For those already familiar with the DB universe (that means 99.9% of you), the name already implies the series will mainly feature who else - the perverted Master Roshi.

Since the game plays very similarly all across the series, I'm going to review the it as a whole, rather than each one separately.

The series begins with the original DB universe, where Goku (and the rest of the cast) was still little and training under Roshi.
Goku asks Roshi to train him, but his master got other plans: he asks him to bring him young beautiful girls from across the realm to satisfy his dirty needs.

🕹️ The games are played in RPGmaker style, but only the first installment was actually made in that engine (the rest were made in Unity).
So the gameplay is very basic: WASD and interaction button.

In the first title the goal is very clear and straight forward: travel the world map and find the exact type of girl Roshi wants in her area, beat her (and her "bodyguards") in "Rock, Paper, Scissors" to illustrate the actual beat up / dominance.

Unfortunately it's not an actual RPS: it is in fact a trial and error game where each of the 3 rounds has a pre-determined win condition to select the correct form.

For example: X opponent will always lose if you choose Rock, Paper, Paper
in that specific order. Choosing any other options will result in a guarantee loss at that round. 2 out of 3 matches must be won in order to achieve victory.

Certainly not the best way to provide an engaging gameplay, but rest assured, since I provided walkthroughs for each of the titles at the bottom of the post.

After Roshi wins the girl over, he immediately gets to do with her as he pleases, finishing up with a comical violent beatdown that I did find being a nice touch, a bit more "loyal" to the OG if the events actually did happen.

There is almost no exploration involved, but the little that there is will require you to hit a few levers and interact with a bunch of NPCs in specific order to progress.
You cannot access areas that don't have the exact girl Roshi wants, so the game basically sets you up on a fixed path.

The same cannot be said for the next two sequels, which are pretty much a carbon copy of each other, with some changes.

The story now takes place in the DBZ timeline, where Roshi steals the time machine Bulma created so he can chase even more sexy girls across different timelines.

Here is when things get a bit confusing, since the game is now split into different maps that are only referred to as "Year 7XX" in the time machine.
You'll either have to write down or memorize where each number takes you, or just use the guides I added.

The RPS concept remains, but now we also have scavenger hunts that require traveling to different timelines to find the items needed to progress the individual stories.
A lot of it is guesswork, so unless you're a very patient person, then again - just do yourself a favor and use the guides.

The third game also has a nice addition of new minigames other than RPS, although I wouldn't really call them much of an improvement of the "gameplay", but rather a step in the right direction for a more engaging experience.
On a greater plus side, it also has hidden solutions for the RPS challenges nearby them.

💕 So what about the actual reason we're here?

Well, the thumbnails are purely the reason you clicked on "Continue reading", and in a sharp contrast to the gameplay - the artwork and animations are easily an 11/10.

Yamamoto's strict style of source material is straight up the one and only reason to consume his content, let alone RPGmaker games that are sub-par even in the engine's standards.

So yes, the games are there simply to contextualize the lewds, but my god, those lewds are more than worth it...

In Kame Paradise 1 the scenes are progresses simply by tapping, following the fixed CGs and animations accompanied by a dialogue between Roshi and the current girl.

In Kame Paradise 2 & 3 we actually get a more elaborated viewing experience, with zoom, scene selection, speed control, and a climax button to watch the girls getting glazed up.

You can also access the entire gallery at the TV in Roshi's house, along with some beautiful sketches that are unlocked by finding them across the realm.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Overall, as strange as it may sound, I do recommend playing the series only with a guide if you want to maintain both your sanity and appreciation of the experience as a whole.

Treat it more like an interactive story, because there is no reason anyone should jump through hoops for this kind of entertainment.

I cannot state hard enough how phenomenal is the artwork, and how grateful I am that we have such a dedicated and passionate creator that keeps making content for 7 years (and going...) to such precision as if it was produced by Toei themselves.
