Review:
I'll be straight up with you - if it is purely H content that you seek, then skip this one.
There IS such content here, but relative to the rest of the content available it is pretty scarce, and is very mild on top of it, which I'll touch later.
Little Canopus was released not too long ago, and the trailers sweet pixel animations did their first impression, so I had to give it try.
You know... I truly came with low expectations knowing how low-detailed pixel / action games turn out to be, but to my surprise the gameplay was more satisfying than I ever imagined. You know when a game is pretty easy, but has the right formula that keeps you hooked? I suppose that stands for many mobile games nowadays, which would be an unfair comparison.
Either way, for an H-game, LC offers TONS of content, with no less than over 8 different worlds to explore, with plenty of beautifully animated actions scenes (even the RPGmaker-like ones!), a skill tree system, and newly introduced magic spells to play with as you keep progressing and leveling up.
It even has an achievement system with rewards that you can collect at your house. (head to the south room)
As of writing these lines there is no English translation yet, but that certainly didn't stop me from beating the whole thing and still wishing for more.
Even without understanding a thing about the lore you can kinda get the gist of it more or less, so don't let that startle you in case you want to pick it up.
The controls are very simple: You move with arrow keys, enter battle mode with C, attack with Z, and assign magic spells to QWEASDRF from the menu (V).
Maybe it's because I don't play that many RPGs, but it certainly was a very entertaining experience, that at some point I forgot that I'm playing an adult game at all. And to be honest, I'm not quite sure why there's even any adult content at all in this game.
I mean, yeah, it sells, but all the scenes feel completely unrelated to the story (non-canon if you'd like).
Speaking of H scenes, there are 9 in total, all pixel animated, and not only that they are scarce - they're also borderline ecchi than explicit. You'll unlock the gallery in case you missed them along the way once you beat the post-ending (yes, there's even post content!).
I whole heartedly recommend Little Canopus, and I will most certainly come back to check out Cinderalle Castle's past works as well if they hold up to this standard.
Little Canopus is available on DLsite.
