Review:

You can say many things about the H scene, but if there's one thing that some of these games have that the mainstream won't is extreme brutality cranked to 300 on a scale of 100.

This version of SoD is a sequel to the first title bearing the same name.
All enemies and weapons assets used here have been copied from the first one. The girls models however are different.
There's no point ever bothering checking out the first one, because you won't miss anything honestly. Even this game doesn't quite deliver the ultimate FPS experience.

However... when we look at the scene as a whole, when poorly coded games with tons of asset flips that just try to make a quick buck off our most primal instincts, then yes - this is a game that I will definitely recommend when it comes to player engagement.

In terms of gameplay SoD is a standard FPS, or rather too standard. You walk with your squad of waifus towards the objective while exploring around and shooting zombies and other abominations.
Every kill grants you points that increase with a multiplier based on the difficulty you select.
Use those points as a currency to buy new skills, materials to expand your base, or gifts to give the girls to both level them up and later on get intimate.

There's a lot of VN aspect here if that's your thing, and every single line (besides non-main NPCs) is voice lined, which shows that the devs do care about that aspect.

For me personally the most favorite part is the death scenes, because they are EXTREMELY gory, which could be better if this game had a bigger budget. Even so, some of the things you see will at the very least get a "damn.." out of you.

There are of course other H scenes with the silent protagonist, other NPCs, and with the enemies. I actually held this review even though the game was released recently because I waited for them to finally push out gallery mode, which they did this month.

Seed of the Dead is and will never be anywhere close to similar inspiration such as Left 4 Dead. But if you're looking for an H game with actual gameplay and depth, plus entertaining H and gore scenes, then look no further.
