Review:

I think what impressed me the most with this game is that this is the studio's first commercial H title being so highly competent.
Now don't get me wrong - this is still your typical shallow H game experience that doesn't hold up gameplay-wise compared to your regular indie title.

HOWEVER, its main focus is FUN, and fun it delivers.
The controls you begin with are basic movement, run, jump, shield and attack.
As you level up you'll unlock new moves that you can execute with a short sequence of input just like in fighting games, making the combat as wild and dynamic as you want it to be.

I actually haven't checked the H content at all until I had my satisfaction with the combo system. It even made me wish that more "serious" action games would use similar gameplay style with proper level.

The character controls pretty smooth, although it does have a bit of lag between certain inputs. Nothing frustrating however.
Other than unlocking skills, you will also level your stats as well, which is a must, if you ever want to have any hope of progressing. (Unless you play on "Heaven" mode = enemies 1hko mode)

First few bosses were disappointing, but from the 4th one it felt like the devs were actually making an effort with cool patterns and strategy. The final boss however felt kinda cheap with its extremely short melee telegraphs, but overall I was pleased with the efforts put into creating a real gaming experience in an H game.

H content is decent. The animations are neat, but what I think makes the gallery mode stand out the most is the multiple customization options, and most importantly a free roaming camera that lets you view from any angle and any distance.
That alone makes the same scene having more entertainment value by changing up its settings however you'd like.

Worth noting that you also unlock a good variety of sets of clothes, that you can also customize with different tear level up to no clothes at all. This can also be done during actual gameplay, and not just in gallery mode.

Do I recommend Maken Incubus? Hell yeah!
It's fun to play, easy to pick up, completely user friendly, plenty of entertainment value. Even if gameplay could definitely have been more immersive.

Maken Incubus is available on DLsite.
