[Summary]

This is a simple 2D action game featuring Rabiane - a sister sent by the church to exorcise monsters in a cursed land.

The game is centered on violent themes with some adult context to them. (Ryona)

Modern, elaborate pixel art inspired by nostalgic pixel-art games
depict every scene, including some post-ending scenes.

Review:

This one is a classic.
The gameplay is very simplistic, but it is exploding with soul!

A very atmospheric experience where you control a nun equipped with a sword and arrows on her quest to eradicate evil.
You move left and right, jump and kill the enemies / bosses in your path in order to progress.

On your way you'll find all sorts of monstrosities that each screen is dedicated for a specific one at a time. Which I personally appreciated, given how the devs didn't just create a game as an excuse for a gallery viewer, but actually put a lot of effort into bringing you context and a setting to each one.

Admittedly I haven't played that many pure Ryona titles like this one, but the brutality mixed with adult context was executed very well, and will easily leave an impression or even shock for anyone watching poor Rabiane getting herself into some extreme situations.

The artwork is beautiful, and the animations are very well done.
They even remind me a bit of Blasphemous, even though it was released much earlier.
