Weekly Update (Patreon)
Content
Hey--
Now that Patreon has launched it's own video hosting, I'm planning on expanding the exclusive Patron content. I'm planning on releasing most of the videos from Japan on Patreon as they will cover discussions of subject matter that YouTube does not tolerate.
Sex Chess was my biggest video release ever. I have no idea why, but it was really popular. Unfortunately it was also demonetized, so I can't imagine how many more views it would have gotten if it wasn't suppressed. Hopefully the year end videos that start in a few weeks will somehow avoid suppression.
The year end Patreon lists are almost completed as is most of my Game of the Year list. I'm still waiting on November's numbers for the year end Steam list, but everything should be done before I leave for Japan.
For the Game of the Year 2022 video I am planning on sticking with last year's categories of:
- Top Romance Game
- Top NTR Game
- Top Harem Game
- Top LGBTQIA+ Game
- Top Monster Game
- Best Girl
- Best Art in a Game
- Best Music in a Game
- My Favorite Game
- Game of the Year
Please let me know if you think that is sufficient for this year as well. Yeah I know that the LGBTQIA+ classification is unwieldy and (from the comments that I've received) some of you may have a political or cultural issue with it, but I think we all understand that I'm just trying to recognize a large section of our player base and community. I get enough flack for including NTR stuff even though statistically that is one of the most popular flavors after the "hetero-normative harem" flavors.
Game of the Year will remain metric based and fortunately the data has once again given us a clear 1st place. I really worry that one of these years we'll have a close race, but so far so good.
Best Girl, Art, and Music will remain very subjective and are really there to create conversation and recognize that there is more to video games than just sex and violence. My Favorite Game is back, because that is the question I am asked the most (Closely followed by, "Why won't you give me a list of female protagonist games?").
I'll talk more about this in this month's Patron video along with my ideas about the new Patreon Video format. I'd love to know what you think and I'm actually a little nervous about putting more content on Patreon. This isn't about excluding the greater YouTube community. This is about talking about material that I just can't explore on YouTube currently. Like certain flavors, their origins, and censorship. Like I said I'll talk more about that in the video.
I hope everyone is having a great week and I'll talk to you soon!
